Re: Ask Carroll

I'm not gonna lie, by the end of the book Tom was really starting to annoy me. At the risk of bringing down the wrath of fong, it was only the 'Nick' bits that kept me going to the end

Re: skateboarding ...

Well, I made an impulse eBay purchase the other day. Pretty much flies in the face of the excellent advice given by Karlos and Iggy, but limited supply and me being a cheapskate narrowed my options. In the end I went for a lightly used complete - powell minilogo deck (8x32 or thereabouts), thunder t...

Re: Ask Carroll

Braif, I'm thinking 200 at 200 , a lavish coffee table book showcasing two hundred of the best 'Ask Carrolls', each accompanied by a classy nude shot of Nick in a heroic pose. It would seem the perfect successor to TC . Nick, a friend of mine has a book published into which he snuck a rather amusing...

Re: skateboarding ...

Nah, it's not free. The charity thing is a bit of a puzzler. He asked me about it before applying for charitable status and I didn't think he had a prayer but I was obviously wrong. There's lots of advantages to doing it, like 100% business rate relief, grants from sporting bodies etc. Thanks for th...

Re: skateboarding ...

I know nothing about current decks, trucks or wheels (This is my mate's park btw http://www.rampworldcardiff.co.uk and here https://w...

Re: skateboarding ...

Does anyone use the old school setups any more? I gave my old 30x10 (Lucero Riky Barnes, Trackers, 90a Crossbones) to a mate thinking I'd never use it again and then another mate has only gone and built a pretty fantastic skatepark, so I'm in two minds about what to do - get it back off mate number ...

Re: Fixed-fin flying

Last time I did it I used kingspan offcuts to make a fin block, making sure it was taller than the fins and giving as much lateral support as possible, gaffer taped it in place, pipe lagging all round the rails nose and tail, stuffed the board into a single 10mm board bag then shoved that into the c...

Re: Ask Carroll

Nick,

In case you missed mingnut's escalating edit-edit-edit tard-strop in the Tangents thread, it appears that he has flounced out, never to return. And all because of you. On a scale of one to ten, how indifferent does that make you feel?

Re: What ever happened to full deck grip?

I wonder if the top SUP dudes wax their entire deck grip like the hot rippers do with their tail pads. I'd like to think so
