jeez, it's been a while since there was a left that big at avoca point!!

nowhere open seems to be handling it.

there'd be a killer rip at box

all the harbour action is on the south side - out of the wind & chop.

there is almost a rideable reform wave around the corner from south head, at HMAS Watson, or a loooong paddle from camp cove.

a boat has parked itself to watch the surfers out at Neilsen park.

12:02pm - 8 guys at Neilsen park now !!

2 guys got one wave, a straight-hander, about 2 foot of full wash for about 20 metres, then it died out.

south head is getting bigger, still messy, but wrapping right around 270 degrees now.

dobroyd's not doing it either - too onshore & messy.

can't wait to get home to see what the Haven's doing.

if you measured tea'pou (or however it's spelt) from the back, then a 1ft day may have a 10ft plus face ?!?!?

I'll agree with the measurements from knee 1.5ft up to head height being 5ft.... But if I could stand straight up in a barrel, it would need to be about 8ft, accounting for lip thickness etc...I'm 5'10. I could squash up into a barrel of a 4ft wave, anything under that you'd have to be on your guts....

If you are an experienced surfer, and go out for a surf at Manly or Bondi (or terrigal for that matter) on a 2ft sunny summer Sunday.........then you are a bigger fool than the 50,000+ kooks out there trying / learning to surf !! ...but just thank christ the surf schools don't set up camp at the bet...
