Re: Fiji 2012

Agree the main clown commentating fiji has little idea of surfing. He sounds like an out of season NFL commentator. I lost count of the amount of times he said "x surfer needs Y score" when Y was the 2 wave total the surfer was sitting on. My favourite commentator is Doherty. Turpel is ok, except fo...

Re: White Horses - new surf mag

i stumbled upon a copy in a newsagent and picked it up. $20 is a f**king bargain for what you get. It is more akin to a $50 copy table book than a magazine. good core surfing stories, without the womens weekly for surfers vibe most of the other mags have, and not much hipster crap to boot. I picked ...

Re: BACKYARD SHAPERS

Here's some of my recents. All shaped, glassed, sanded in my bay under my parents house! 1. 5'8 x 22 x 2 5/8 mini simmons for a friend. Colour is rolled on acrylic onto the foam for something different. It came up much patchier when the resin hit it. other than that was pretty happy with it. 58 simm...

Options for October?

Might have just scored an unexpected week off work in early october, so might go on a quick trip somewhere. Looking for somewhere within an 8-10 hour flight (or drive) from sydney, warm water, things to do with the mrs also, relatively uncrowded waves. Not fussed on scoring huge waves - 3-6ft would ...

Re: epoxy

i've read different reports. greg loher on sways says you can hotcoat with additive F (whatever that is). Others say to hotcoat with poly.

Apparently it doesn't "kick" like poly, but just gradually goes off.

Interested to hear from some epoxy regulars.

Re: epoxy

Hey digger, is john's resin for both laminating and filler coats??. Glassing is hard enough without changing resins halfway, through!! :D i'm interested in the same question. I have only used poly resin up to now (only glassed 6 boards now), but need to switch to epoxy because the odour of poly waft...
