Sadly true.
Anyone else pick up the commentators keep harping on about how the new guys on tour need "to show the judges something new" to keep getting results, but plenty have been doing the same thing for over 10 years. On the same boards. At least Slater makes it interesting.

Re: jbay
Love the guys that can combine it all with a bit of style......JJF? Jordy? And functional airs where they ride out into a big carve straight away....YEAH

Re: jbay
Don't need to go above the lip to get big scores - a 9 on rail is better to watch for me than a 9 from an air - but then I am not likely to land any airs soon.

Re: Chronic disc lower back issues
Agreed on the core and back muscle development - thats where I felt the improvement with the pilates, it is just provided in a supervised environment so poor form isn't making things worse. If you know what you are doing you and are confident you aren't going to aggravate it it could be worth saving...

$400 for this hunk of shit ? Perhaps he's still working out decimal places? http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/glenorie/surfing/native-habitat-surfboard/1118214037 What makes it a hunk of shit? Is it just the stupid asking price relative to the age of the board, or the shape, or all 3? Buy it, ride it ...

Re: Chronic disc lower back issues
Had a hit of back pain late last year, ended up at the physio and the result was that my biomechanics are sh!t. Pivot and bending all through one point, causing an inflamed disc. Few at home stretches and exercises helped ease the pain, but he got me to go to clinical pilates as well - basically pil...

Contrary to Steve I say go with a traditional longboard - completely different style of riding them makes it more enjoyable in my experience. Nothing worse than seeing someone trying to surf something 9 foot long like its 6 foot long. Feel the glide!

Tiny little wedges behind the rocks at black rock - most just shut down across the bank, but got a couple that ran and then reformed on the inside. Rode the asymmetrical. Still surfing in board shorts and a wetly top and its nearly bloody July!

Re: I wrote a book
Read the start of it last night - not bad, not bad at all Batoes. Definitely better then plenty on the shelves, and nice that the surfing parts aren't over written but give a good feel.
Excellent work from what I have seen so far - worth the 2.99!

Re: Rate Your Autumn
Just me or has the northern NSW / SE QLD coast had more decent size swells from the south than normal? like really south - 8 foot on the open side, 1 foot on the protected side stuff. Everytime we have a semblance of a beach break here on the exposed beach one of these swells arrives and blows it up...
