Re: the forecasters missed this
Haven't missed it ;) :p I mentioned that in Friday's notes and had it arriving for Thursday morning as you have said. Now I have two pulses of swell, one from the SE for late tomorrow and all day Wednesday, with Thursday's showing an easing trend. Kinda bundled it all in to one as it is from the sam...

Re: Annual ANZAC swell again?
Just looks to be some erroneous data to me Don.
There's no way you can get average periods higher than peak periods

Re: Annual ANZAC swell again?
If ya pray to Huey over the next few days, he might just permit some of the SW groundswell to refract into the coastline late on Friday and into Saturday, but it's a long shot at the moment with most models showing it tracking parallel to the coastline (ie missing it). Don, don't know how you could...

Re: Annual ANZAC swell again?
As Don has pointed out, Olds I don't think that the South Coast is the best option for south swells unless the system responsible for the swell has developed off Tassie's East Coast or pushed up from close to the Antarctic shelf to the south of Tassie or the Tasman Sea towards New Zealand's South Is...

Re: where have all you predictors gone
Been more so looking at the models updates regarding Vicco rather than the East Coast, but without having a comprehensive look over everything I think it's safe to say that you guys are gonna get a good dose of swell from the east to south-east.. especially when we're all over here!

Re: where have all you predictors gone
Don,
I saw this swell on the charts but because it will be lucky to generate anything substantial I left it off the forecast.
Not really worth mentioning unless it's gonna give us a 2-3ft swell...
Oh and winds are onshore anyway.

Stuggle to see how the stongest winds were on the eastern flank Nappy... http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q10/sasurfa1/2.png http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q10/sasurfa1/1.png We'll see how the Mid performs, I'm expecting at least 2ft, with a good chance of 3ft sets on the large incoming tide..

Re: Rubber
Wear a short-arm 2/2. I can surf for boardies for an hour or so with no wind before getting too cold.
But for a 2-3hr surf I need the extra little bit of rubber, I'm a skinny bastard!

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Slept in a bit this morning as I scalped the top of my foot with my fin last night at Curly. Woke up and saw the swell was alot bigger than I expected so headed over to Curly with the camera and the board. Took some snaps and then paddled out into what was a solid 5-6ft off the point. Scored a coupl...

Re: Drought breaker?
Well Sydney is coming in a lot bigger then expected today  Look at the buoy climb  I surfed south curly again and it was a solid 5-6ft with some 8ft bombs down the beach, one of which I copped on the head  Wind speeds around the low didn't even look to be that great  The ...

Re: Drought breaker?
This morning was a much welcome suprise indeed. Was expecting solid 3ft waves but it was a solid 3-4ft with 5ft sets at dawn  Surfed south Curly and there were a few fun ones if you were right position when they wedged up off the point, and it got better as the tide filled in a little and the...

Re: Drought breaker?
Already feeling a bit chilly and Autumnesque here this morning. Good to finally see some swell on the way, but would of liked a bit more than what's coming and with more SE in its direction..
