Re: post your modern day sickness

/\ Same. I think the smallest I ever went with dims was 6'0 x 18 1/4 x 2 1/4 . A newline shape by rob Webster. Stack of rocker, no foam up front whatsoever. It went great about 5% of the time

Re: post your modern day sickness

I have seen Some of the very best and hopelessly worst surfing on those wafer thin rockered boards of the early nineties. Some of the cats on those things on the Gold Coast points absolutely shredded on them. Frenzied top to bottom hacking tearing the shit out of it. But if the wave fattens out, it'...

Re: post your modern day sickness

Of course I have not changed my tune. I already said in a prior thread that I think those boards are narrow in their application. Although great in some conditions. Hollow punchy waves that grind start to finish they go great . After all I did grow up spending considerable time surfing those highly ...

Re: 6'7" Michael Anthony Rounded Pintail

why wouldnt you just keep it? you're a light-mid weight, surfing QLD ? it'd be good for cyclone swells on the points.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Some good spots up there. Want to do some more scoping. I'm finding with that old pintail single that the rounder and gruntier the wave, the better it goes. On that barrel, it just felt so clean and set in its line. Like as soon as I took the drop and drew off the bottom the board just positioned an...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Yesterday. Southish facing beach on the central Coast. First paddled out the back bank for some slightly overhead but raw and wonky walls. Then the inside bank on the shore up the far northern corner started working. There was a small window where for about an hour or so it was doing a sound impress...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Petulance. I left at 6.30. It had mostly clapped out by then. It was the most little cover up barrels I've ever had out there in a single session. Punchy runners from start to finish. It was a Refreshing break from its typical flat faced burgers.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

5am paddle out. Wedgy little peaks. Crossed up from the mix of small south groundswell and north east wind swell. Lots of bowly little shoulder high cover ups to be had, until the high tide filled in and snuffed out the south swell component. Breaking a little like a mid tide tweed coast back beach ...

Re: skateboarding ...

Five Dock still has that old lumpy vertical death bowl (U-shaped concrete half pipe rather) but also a stack other intertwined bowls off to the side of it. The park is probably five times the size of when you last saw it. Dulwich Hill is a lot mellower. Macquarie Fields has an insane bowl. Super tig...
