Re: Help a brother out, need advice with trip
Thanks Guys, teenage kids (16 and 17), boy skater, girl...I dont know (LOL), girl I suppose. Yeah I do know, crafts, and painting... The surf trip I want to do on my own, sick of the kids saying boring this, boring that. So if I take them to something nice and short, like snorkelling on the barrier ...

Re: getting old, dont want struggle on a shorty
Mate you can always add a little bit of volume to your shorty. Rails, width and thickness. Delay the process as much as you can though as Natho suggested...

Re: Legropes.
Like the Balin's and O&E. The last Balin I had was 6 foot long, took it to Indo and on a clean up set it got stretched to 8 foot, maybe even longer, but it never snapped. Used it for the rest of the trip and a few months here back at home with no problems. Have had a few DaKine's and they are really...

H20 Motion contact details
G'Day, I please need to get the contact details for H20 Motion, there was a person taking water shots this morning at DY and my mate reckons he got a few shots that he would like to buy if they come out good. We have tried searching on Google with no luck. Fellow forumites, your help would be much a...

Re: Top turns
Watching surf videos can help with improving this technique. I have noticed good surfers build enough speed with maybe one or 2 pumps (max) of the board down the line and when at the bottom of the wave they do a smaller pump, a set up pump if you like to allow the face of the wave to reach it's most...

Re: Fin size vs surfer weight
Thanks everyone for your input, I honestly I feel grateful for having input from Nick Carroll as well, thanks mate, it makes a lot of sense. As Natho said, smaller fins for bigger / step up board, which has got pin tail = smaller. Will base my next few tests on this to fine tune. I heard a post heat...

Fin size vs surfer weight
G' Day folks, I just wanted to see what were your opinions regarding fin size. According to FCS, template 5s (PC 5, M5, Kelly 2.1, JW, GAM-2, etc, etc) are for surfers from 65 kgs to 80 kgs. With the larger templates (G-AM, MF, etc) for surfer from 75 kgs to 90 kgs. I have asked a few guys randomly ...

Re: Do you take pills or just freak out...????
I take my mountain bike to the trails. Burning the excess energy helps with staying sane during these long periods of crappy to super crappy waves. I have seen more bikers on the trails than ever before, I suspect a lot of surfers are doing the same. Another thing that the trails offer is that you d...

Re: Puerto Rico - February
Ahh forgot to mention that also good time of the year for crowds as holidays are over and locals need to go to work, students to uni's..., kids to school, holiday makers from the city back to their cubes... etc, the main spots have the local crew, however never as crowded as here in Oz. Most spots a...

Re: Puerto Rico - February
Have surfed Puerto Rico 3 times in the Jan - Feb season, which is the winter there, end of winter. Plenty of waves to be had at this time of the year, specially on the NW coast, Aguadilla and Rincon. I stayed at Darios' guest house near the Ramey Base (US Base and Airport), you can google for detail...

Re: Mentawai Charter - Recommendations?
Mate, I went on the Nusa Dewata and it was pretty good, captain Simon Dale and his crew were really good and very on the money with breaks and conditions. Not the most confortable boat I hear but with only 5 surfers on board and good food, thats all I needed. I would imagine that at this time of the...

Re: People are soooo deluded they make me sick !!!!
You can't compare a finless shape with your typical thruster board, the finless shape has got some bottom "channels" or curves to cater for the lack of fins. Kreepy, you are like some of my mates, you are too much up yourself to notice that a good set of fins, and subtle adjustments to fins, are get...
