Re: General snow stuff
A friend has been a couple of times to Bettmeralp, which is about 350kms from Zurich airport. He loved it. Car free chocolate-boxy type village, I think

Re: Just general surfing stuff
nah, I didn't mean that GSTQ. I meant with models you are locked into their volume paradigm and what "they" think you should be riding. The ones I felt up didn't feel like ultra grovellers to me - although I'm sure under highly skilled, younger feet they would be- so I don't want to ride them ultra...

Re: Just general surfing stuff
I was mostly just having a dig at steve for making a sweeping judgement about a board he'd never ridden. But yeah, it feels awful under your arm. For longer distances you have to carry it kookstyle - tail forward, fins out

Re: Just general surfing stuff
I've seen a few WW. I like the ideas- obviously a Tomo rip-off but so what....it just seems one of those board models where the smaller ones look just a bit undersized then the slightly bigger ones from 5'10" up look massively obese. that seems to be the case with so many board models. well the 6'0...

Re: Just general surfing stuff
yep, although it's worth pointing out that I've been riding wide tailed boards for knocking on ten years so am used to the huge girth. as noted by biolos in his marketing blurb it has "[increased] concave for more lift in small surf, which also [adds] significant rail rocker… thus adding a more prog...

Re: Just general surfing stuff
6'0. I would have got the 5'10 for preference but nobody had it in stock. Seemingly you can't get it at all here any more

Re: Just general surfing stuff
Thanks for the reply. It's sounding more like a board for faster flatter lines and point breaks, and much less of a board for typical beach break conditions. iggy, I know I keep banging on about it but it might be worth your while trying to demo the Weekend Warrior if you can. I surf mostly beachbr...

No prep needed, beany
(I know, I know, it's inappropriate for a serious front page thread about surfboards. Just pretend it's a meyerhoffer or something)

Re: Quiver thread
there's a DVS quad being sold by devon and cornwall police on ebay at the moment. 70 inches long and well waxed, it was seized by the pigs as evidence and is now being sold. 45 quid start, I'm mildly tempted http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/E1-A-Used-Quad-Surfboard-By-The-Legend-That-is-Dick-Van-Straalen-/...

Re: Where did you surf today ?
There we go, found it using the waaayback machine. From the 2007 surftech site: "RUMOR - Tuflite are stiff. THE TRUTH - Tuflite store more kinetic energy than any other board on the market. The harder you push the more return in kinetic energy you will receive and the faster you will drive off the b...

Re: Where did you surf today ?
which type of tuflite are we talking about? with the first one, I remember there was an FAQ on the surftech website that went something along the lines of 'why are your boards so stiff and dead and non-flexy' to which the answer was 'you're too feeble to get the most out of them. go to the gym and b...

Re: Ebay Bargains thread
Seriously? I thought it was only hopelessly nostalgic acid casualties and well heeled late life learners trying to buy themselves a slice of cred who think that these retro rehashes are anything but a total disaster. Obviously not

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Our buoys have it too. 4.2 m2/Hz on the outer one, 1.7 on the inner one at 12 today. That's got me rigid with excitement for later on
