Re: Where did you surf today ?
Steve, you describe almost exactly what happened to a mate when, in our long-gone youth, he was attempting entry at one of those northern points. At first I laughed, but the time quickly came that I was in real fear for his life.

Re: Epoxy>killer?
Many of us would have had some exposure over the yrs. I had a mate who made boards as a teenager. I'd often do the filler coats. No protection and a dip of the hands into the acetone to clean. Same when I fixed dings for a professional boardmaker. Only precaution he ever took was a dust mask when sh...

Re: the young clubbie killed at the aust titles on the goldy
The clubbie thing doesn't do it for me, but it does for them. If they're not paddling skis and boats or diving for sticks in the sand, what would detractors have them do? Playstation with all the other fatties? Robberies to support rampant drug addiction? For (some) surfers to even suggest that it's...

Re: What's to be done with SUPs
Not many around here, but I'm sure it won't be long. Was in the water awhile back and two SUPpers were out. Not real good at it. One gets a wave and I get one a couple later. I had a chuckle because he was on his knees trying to paddle back through the closeout. Got back out before him

Reckon we all have some experiences dealing with mental illness. Some directly and some whose loved ones are, or have been, afflicted. It's difficult for everyone involved, but I think we're getting better - at both understanding and accepting. For those of you in here openly discussing your mental ...

Re: Surfin big waves is easier than
Yes Nick, you make a semi-valid argument. But if you look at the retail prices offshore, they are still significantly below what we pay here so the price equivalence you mention is not quite right I've said it before - it annoys me that products made in Asia can get to the US or Europe and then back...
