PEOPLE POWER... Has had some success with repelling the developers with their tails between their legs at Catherine Hill bay and Sandon point. LOCALS were able to reject the developments outright. ....Then there was Freshy Reef ... not such a great outcome but it just goes to show that WITH a bunch ...

Re: Surf Boats in Crowded Surf

What poses the bigger risk - 5 guys in a surfboat or 5 SUP's in the same line up ??? Is the same view cast at 5 bodyboarders drifting out into the line up, or for that matter, 5 muslims swimming between the flags and walking up the beach through OUR BEACH... How dare they use our area  "The O...

Re: what's the shittest wave in sydney?

Freshy Reef Never works more than about once in ten years, when the sand builds up... could have been awesome with a few rocks in the holes that cause the too full sections but for the "vocal local yocals" who enjoy the small close outs and crowd just the way it is - big and at times dangerous.( th...

Re: Kites and keys

Kite surfing. Is it equally as lame as a SUP, or a whole lot worse? I dont see the skill involved.  SUPs are like Hoola hoops for geriatrics. They are in love with the idea but spend most of their time trying to pick it up. Those kite surfers are bloody fantastic to watch - their were...

Re: A simple low cost artificial reef approach?

Great to see others are considering spreading the crowds with a reef application and simple ideas, like the rain tanksuggestion, are always the best! The artificial reef project, off Terrigal, was approved on the basis that it would be good for the environment. In that, the reef would attract fish o...

For all the negativity heaped on Layne Beachley over her career and reflected by some in this forum. I don't believe that anyone would deny her sense of sportsmanship, tenacity or her strength of character. As recently as this week in Hawaii she was dropped in on in the final of an unnamed pro event...
