Josh/Boat
I found an old Ron Wade Single Fin at a garage sale for $10. It was in pretty bad shape, the glass was delaminating and it needed some serious work so I let it slide.
How much do you reckon it would cost to restore one of these boards??

Town & Country 6'10 thruster, can't remember the exact width and thickness - not too wide, but a bit of volume. Had loads of pressure dings on the top, with this tail pad that was pink with 3 big yellow spots (yeeuch). Cost me about 150 from Wicks. Not really ideal for a first board, took me ages to...

Yer spot on KK, Hatzikian talks about making the all rounder traditional board, and that '67 was basically the end of the era. He mentions that the board is based upon Nat Young's board 'Sam', which was actually a move away from the truly traditional boards because it had been cut down to about 9'4....

Saw it on the weekend. Beautifully made movie, done in a documentary style. I'd highly recommend it for all the traditionalists out there, but there's a section where Bonga Perkins gets a hold of it and takes it to Pipe which'll keep everyone happy!! Beau Young is the Aussie contingent and he comes ...

Thanks Gents, excuse the kooky questions Platty, I'm showing my ignorance, but is the photo of Mr Gleave doing a drop Knee turn, and if it is, is a drop knee one example of a pivot?? :? :? I can see, that from the boats defn, the board is stalled from weight being placed right on the back and the bo...

About 6 years back in Maroubra, I was just starting out. I lived in Coogee, with no transport, so I used to work to and from the 'bra. After a 30 minute walk to the beach, got suited up and started paddling out. First set came through and I thought I'd make it over the top ...EASY. So I just keep on...

Good call gents. I ahem..was 'surfing' at Manly on the weekend, and I'd forgotten how bad the crowds were. Now, there's been plenty of discussion about if you can't get around the learners and tea baggers then you're just as bad, but, bloody hell - it was carnage!! People going left on right handers...

Hedgehog I've never come across an O'Neill so I'll definitely check that out - thanks for the recommendation. KK 2 different brands, the Short John was made by "Peak". I don't like the way it sits and it gets uncomfortable for any session longer than an hour. I reckon it's the design, which uses a v...

Waterlogged wettie
I thought my wettie would last another Winter, but I just discovered that it fills up with water. The stuff seems to get trapped in the legs - It looks like I'm walking around with elephantosis....    I've lost a few kilo's since buying the thing (about 10) and it's a cheapy...
