Re: 2+1 Set Up's - NPJr
you'll probably need to strengthen the area where the centre box goes, and if you mix the wrong foams and resins you'll be very sorry. The firewires get a fair bit of their strength from the skin too. Make sure your professional knows what they're doing. Josh Dowling (speedneedle on here) could advi...

Nice shots Steve.
Guess the recent outlay on equipment paid off...
Can't wait for the interview.

Re: How to pigdog
I'm hardly likely to argue technical aspects of surfing with Nick, but just to clarify I didn't mean to get so much weight forward that you unweight the back part of the board. My natural tendency, and one I see a lot, is to be too heavy on the back foot in steep pigdog takeoffs, attempt to pull up ...

G'dae.
Sorry about that...
Offshore's at Wrightsville Beach, NC.
Looks like Irene made landfall about 80 miles NE of him, likely to a bit wet and windy.

Re: How to pigdog
Open your shoulders so that your chest is almost facing the nose. It'll mean that your weight is further forward, your hand is further forward on the rail and mean that you keep the drive that you can otherwise lose by pulling up too hard on the outside rail.

Re: twinny longboards
Never ridden a proper twinny longboard, only 2+1s with bigger sides when I forgot the centre fin screw :x the fin configuration isn't the same, but it might be interesting... down the line and in turns it went alright. really good actually, very easy to pump. dropping in was a nightmare until you lo...

was that on a film project?
I spoke to someone this morning who knew both Paul and Gary for 15 years, and John for a few. Pretty shook up.
Seems like a rare case when all the tributes seem to be true.

josh, you might want to seriously consider pitching some of your stuff to a gallery as functional art.

In a tragic turn of events, one of those that makes you question the sheer injustice of the random universe, ABC journalists who were instrumental in bringing us some of the most tragic stories of loss in the Lockyer Valley have now died in a helicopter crash. Re: Volume question
Interesting. I think I'm just as confused though after reading Dave's write up. So, a high volume 6'3" board can only have full rails and a flatter rocker? Is that where the extra volume comes from? full rails, yes. think about the cross section. Get a flat deck, carrying the foam further to the ra...

or feraldave...http://www.diversesurf.com.au/news/news/volume.php Dave's estimate 0.35L per kg of bodyweight for pros. Which would place you at about 28L + whatever non-pro addition you want. I ride about 0.39l per kg in my everyday board, and I'm by no means high performance. Last time I saw Margo ...
