Re: Just general surfing stuff

I really hate those tight little turns they have to do in the pocket. So many times you see a great section or a hollow bit and they whack two turns in where one good move would have fitted the wave so much better.

Unlike you, who's only too happy to stay in Bondi the whole time and surf closeouts nursing a dreadful hangover. x
.....and a half a mongrel as well usually. It is Bondi after all.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I thought they called it that because everyone's gay up there. I love how hatchie thinks I should be spending all my spare time chasing waves hours away from where I live when I'm pushing 60. Make the most of it hatchie. It's your time to shine. Personally I don't particularly like a lot of the "goo...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Yes....we could call it Where did you surf today.
There would need to be some unbiased verification system.
Something like other people in the same area going......bullcrap hatchie, it's was flat....and......sounds like your using real wave sizes today rather than your own dubious system, etc.

Re: Temporary shaping bay

I've lately been thinking of trying to shape a wooden midlength. Not sure if it's worth the expense to Fcuk up an expensive bit of balsa. I think the chances of success on the first go would be remote but I'm kind of keen. I've got access to a few tools and the space for a while. I guess if I keep i...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

The Pale Ale is just a simple 1970s inspired single fin. With a very slight vee in the tail from 6'2" it's a blast on smaller beach breaks and points ranging all the way up to 7'4" where it becomes almost a semi gun and perfect for Indonesian freight trains and 6-10" reef and point surf. Is this An...

Re: Ebay Bargains thread

Had two goes to sell a board over a couple of years. First time this guy kept texting me to buy the fins. I kept knocking him back but he kept texting. Funny thing was I ended up selling it the second time without the fins for as much as I was going to sell it with the fins the first time. Still hav...

I will refrain from waxing too lyrical about the feel of bare feet on sand...the warm ocean....still 18-19. Watching the sun set. It's good for your head man.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Decided to drag myself out for the late. Glad I did. There were a few fast little ones coming through. New board took off. Have to let it do its thing and not push it.
