Re: Ask Carroll
Nick, do you think Surfing World cant make its mind up as a surf mag and has lost its punch. I picked up a couple of dog eared copies from a few years back waiting for lunch and it was meaty on info, great section on board designs, sensational spread on Sunset etc..., I have a couple of the latest a...

Re: Ask Carroll
I can’t remember which king of England from the Dark Ages cottoned on to the fact that the common man was being drawn towards Christianity and saw the opportunity to promote it for personal gain so he went on a radical marketing campaign and became the first King of England to “embrace” this growing...

Re: Ask Carroll
Nick, did you make a conscience decision to be a fit and healthy old balls or was it a natural progression? And are you working harder on specific sports/training and or diet and do you still drink booze?

Re: neal purchase jnr single fin
Riding a 7'2 NPJ just now, quite a refined board and tail, great in the clean bigger stuff but it's quite a versatile board all up for waves over 3 ft, I'm finding it a really interesting board to ride and fun keeping light footed and not pumping it from the back and enjoying the rail transitions, w...

Re: Which board do you hope to surf tomorrow?
DY Sunday beach was say 6 with odd bigger sets cleaning the joint out, tough to get into larger ones and when did was the human mogul run for the bulk of the crew hanging on the inside, point look better, smaller, but full carnage, probably the most wipeouts I've seen for ages with guys trying to co...

Re: Brazilian surfers
How can a race that has so many trannies act so tough, as pack creatures they wouldn't be out of place racing cars down the strip at Rockdale on a Saturday night, but they ain't to bad in the surf, I dropped in on a brazzer the other day and gave me a " how ironic" wry smile when I said sorry (or di...

This thread kicked in the guts nearly 8 years on....have things changed?. I reckon there are less middle aged mini malers now, the retro boards are more log types than short boards, shortboards have moved towards the hybrid, wider - fatter to cover up averagesurfers abilities (good for me this as my ...

Yeah it is Tugu and its mellow I've seen it, Echo beach close by can get a bit tougher. I have had a surf at Tanalot Temple 30 min drive away for Canngu it has a pretty/very shallow reef and rock bottom but a nice left hander and the wave itself is fun its just where and what time of the day you dec...
