Re: Where did you surf today ?

Lancelin back beach. Deflate tyres, drive on beach. Looked O.K. about 2 foot and clean, howling offshore, sand blasted from wind coming off dunes while getting ready. I don't normally take the dogs there if I'm on my own, but today I did. I could see them from the water and they kept following anybo...

Re: Indo suggestions

How about a week on the Mornington Peninsula?
You could help Shaun distribute 6 packs of VB to bums dumping rubbish in roadside stops.

Re: Indo suggestions

Quite the pickle you've got yourself into Legion. The only option I can think of that fits your criteria, is the big white elephant Novotel on the south coast of Lombok. Somebody on here (maybe Natho?) said they stayed there once and it was mostly empty and surprisingly O.K. The beaches are quite sp...

Any ideas on what this sorry looking hunk of shit might be ? http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/bronte/surfing/surfboard-8-6-weber-converted-sup-/1102739181 Plenty of flotation there! I don't understand the five listed dimensions. Shouldn't there just be three for length, width and depth? Looks like th...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Any tips on how to unscrew a Philips head fin screw that has been stripped? Serious question let the blokey advice begin. When you say stripped, you mean thread stripped or phillips head rounded out and screwdriver won't bite? If the latter and head of screw sits proud, get hold of it with a small ...

Re: Board for Indo

I find too many boards can be a pain in the arse in Indo, I only ever take 2, 1 would be even better but a spare/back-up is smart and gives you some variety. The V-skate should be perfect, I've got one. Just use what you've got, save the money for other stuff and surf boards you're familiar with. Ne...

Re: "Surfers" and "Surfies"

Surfy / surfer same deal. Surfy is what people who don't surf call a surfer.
Biker and bikie however, have a genuine distinction.

Re: Ebay Bargains thread

A kneeboard would be fun at somewhere like Mystics. I surf there quite a bit with a mate who rides a kneelo - he gets some nice barrels that only the boogers can make. I've often wondered about the advantages of a Kneeboard over a booger, or visa-versa. Surely a kneeboard, having a fin/fins would h...

Re: Surf fitness

There was one at the gym I used to go to but I never used it.
Started getting shoulder pain, physio told me to start using it because muscles in front of shoulders and across chest were overdeveloped and were pulling my shoulders forward.
it only took a few weeks to have a beneficial effect.
