There are generally only two times that dropping in is acceptable. 1. Revenge against an obvious drop in who shows no remorse after the wave; not even a courteous, if insincere, 'sorry mate' on the paddle back out. 2. If it's your brother who reckons he can surf better than you, (ain't that right NC...

I counted a few years ago, something around 120 breaks in 10 years on the East Coast. These days I try to surf somewhere new every time I head out of town.

I often wonder how many surfs or waves I have had in total. There is always room for a few more.

No digital zoom, I blame the patchy clouds for ruining the light in the arvo. :x

Using a waterproof digital camera (Olympus μ series) doesn't help much. Saving for an SLR+housing at the moment.

I am a surfer, but originally started bodyboarding in high school, although growing up in Port Mac makes the choice alot more straightforward. I still get the lid out for a change every now and again, and instantly notice the difference (or indifference) in the water. Discounting Nobbys Beach , the ...

Down the crack (pics)

Had a nice solo session lunchtime Saturday on my way down the coast. Snapped my board so decided to get a couple of photos aftewards. Don't expect too much, I'm not a crack shooter like one Realsurfer who likes the inner view  Criticism welcome/expected. 1. http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...

Finally found my camera after 3 months of searching high and low. It was hiding in my golf bag. I wish I hadn't found it as i was not far off purchasing a dSLR.

This was the first picture I took with it this morning.

clearly, this is not an isolated event but a portent of impending doom! the rip curl pro must be cancelled if catastrophe is to be averted and all current and former wct-ers with the exception of kelly slater are not to be wiped out!! With Kelly in his current form, it'd be no surprise if he did an...

Full moon, no clouds or wind, half dozen shooting stars, waist high on the sets, too many waves to count and only me and one mate out between 7:30 and 10pm. What more could you want? I'll leave the daylight hours to those that want them. At least until some proper swell arrives next week. Topped off...
