Re: Sunscreen for tropics
My review on that "Shseido face stick" sunscreen! Expensive at $25 a pop from USA online or up to $40 in Aussie. Yeah its good stuff possibly the best sunscreen ive used, but its still like any sunscreen, if it works and stays on its hard to get off latter and you go around feeling like your wearing...

Re: Booties
Best winter booties ever had are the Rip Curl rubber soul ones dipped in liquid rubber kinda look like smoothy rubber all over. http://www.ripcurl.com.au/shop/guys/wetsuits/bootsgloves/rubber-soul-3mm-st-boot.htm Done a season in Vicco last year in them and there super warm don't leak and are as clo...

Re: Ask Carroll
Question for Nick and although a little strange its a serious one. In movie 20-20 (surfing life board test one @ tellos) @ 00:57 you pick what looks like Indo style pillows up from the baggage carousel? Whats the story with that? I would not have thought you would need to take pillows to the TIL. Iv...

Re: 10 sharkiest waves In Aus
Lived at Fraser Island for about two years and surfed whenever it was half decent only saw sharks while surfing once two bronzys although it aways felt sharky especially if water was dirty or lots of seaweed, didn't help that the waves were generally really crap and mostly surfed by myself as there ...

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
I think its kinda ironic, rip curl once made wetsuits in Australia but to save money they took operations OS to places like asia at the expense of local jobs. We do the same and take our business OS to save ourselves some money and some would say at the expense of not supporting local business. But ...

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
Last time people posted links, some arseholes at Rip Curl shut down international shipping of their wetsuits to Australia. Shame, I liked their wetsuits. So it's not a bad idea to keep these things quiet. I agree and also like Rip Curl wettys, i managed to get a good deal online OS on my last E-bom...

Re: best vehicle for driving on the beach
My boss at Fraser Island had a brand new land rover and after a few months it started getting areas of rust i never really saw the rust he was a picky bastard i guess it was just surface rust on chrome bits or something, he kept taking it back to them every six months or so and they kept fixing it u...

Re: best vehicle for driving on the beach
I lived at Fraser island for a few years and had a Suzuki Vitara soft top, went pretty good in soft sand as been said there light so glide over the sand, only downside is they dont have much clearance so if your going on dry sand tracks that lots of other bigger 4wds have churned up, you have to pic...

Re: A mate sent me this..
rmb I gotta disagree re the purchasing a board off the shelf bit. Nothing wrong with it at all. At least you can see what you are getting. Thinking that getting a custom means that u are automatically going to get a good board is a bit of con job. Unless u have had several boards from the one shape...

Re: Mentawai reef bombing
Received this email update on this situation today, which sounds positive in that the Indonesian authorities are taking some notice (cut and pasted below) Hi there. On January 28th, 2013, our reefs were bombed for the 31st straight day. Phone calls were made to police, navy and coast guard stations,...

Re: A mate sent me this..
The vid sucked only watched 30 seconds. But the board looks fun. Surfings about chasing a feeling we get from ridding waves, and different boards produce different feelings, boards like this are also about approaching and surfing waves in different ways. IMO all board design/experimentation/copying/...

Re: Bali quiver advice...
Sounds fine to me. Take a bigger board if you want a piece of Outside Corner or Proper Gland. Sounds like the quiver is fine though. Personally I like boards with less rail volume for their because it's warm water and perfect waves. Totally agree on all points. Biggest mistake i think guys make goi...
