Re: Where did you surf today ?

Wouldn't have mattered where I surfed today, it was good everywhere. I went to a less popular spot than the choice of the masses and had some good rides. Just grateful to have done it all before 10am.........didn't that onshore wind destroy it all.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I heard one guest say this morning on the ABC, prior to Dons report, that the surf was 2-3 foot. Then the announcer said unchallenged and in all seriousness that it is head high. WTF? Are they midgets, kneelos, or just translating Hawaiian measurements to practical examples?

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Rock platform right. Crappy waves but had it all to myself for an hour.

Don't you hate it when after an hour the best wave of the day comes in, you catch it and have a good ride, but someone in the carpark sees you, thinks that the wave is regular, and they and their mates paddle out.

Re: "Surfers" and "Surfies"

Have you ever noticed that jobs which require a Uni degree never get described using the 'ie' short treatment but trade jobs do So it's lawyer not lawyie, architect not achie, accountant not accountie. But it's brick or, tradie, sparkie etc. On planes it's pilot, but 'hostie'. Surfies are therefore...

7,8 x 29 x 4 Complete with shark graphics sold by some gormless chump called Perko. Easily the most retarded thing on the Internet Can't think of a single use for it other than taking off deepest inside snapper and simply running straight over the top of everyone and everything in your path Many pe...

Re: Ebay Bargains thread

Al Merrick must be the flimsiest boards on the market. There's a snapped-off nose Al Merrick board with its FCS fins removed that's been sitting on a nearby nature strip for the last week. It looks like it could be easily recommissioned (albeit 6" shorter than original) but apparently no one wants ...

Re: West Coast South America

I didn't surf those places you mentioned but those Chilean lefts sound like the waves a goofy footer would thrive on. The Miraflores area of Lima is safe to stay in and there are plenty of beach break waves there (It's where former world champ Sofia Mulanovich comes from). Definitely learn as much S...

Re: West Coast South America

I did a big trip 4 years ago including the Galapagos, Easter Island, Atacama, and Patagonia. Agree about learning Spanish - once you leave the main tourist areas very few people speak English. Even in some tourist areas not all hospitality staff can communicate in English. Machu Picchu is an oxygen-...

Re: Ebay Bargains thread

Son went and looked at a quad he saw on Gumtree. Pity the photos were when it was new.....and it now had a fin snapped off in one plug, big crack in the nose covered in taped etc. $450? Don't you hate these time wasters. I hope he didn't have to drive too far. Did he bargain him down or just walk a...
