Re: Swell Period

wonder what the highest possible period is 24 seconds is pretty impresive......

Only really got into looking at the period of swell a few years ago when in the Mentawai's for six months and yes it has a huge effect on the quality, power, and how good some set ups break.

Re: Surf Camps Indo

Yeah that is the great thing about that area (playgrounds/sth Siberut mentawai's) so many set ups for all levels of surfers often in real close distance, and the crowd at each wave is normally suited to the level of surfer, magic area.

Re: Surf Camps Indo

Two places come to mind. Surfing village in the South Telo's, a rustic style camp, with one of the best rights in the Telo's out front (much longer and better wave than Max's right, or the boot is the real name of that wave), run by Brazzo's but they are the real deal, lived and surfed in the area b...

Re: Done Mentawais? then think SurfAid Tsunami Appeal.

Yeah too true...if youve done a trip to the Mentawai's nows the time to give back, it may have faded from the news but there is still so much work to be done in providing, shelter, food, tools and other help to get the people from these very poor remote villages back on there feet...and Surf Aid are...
