Re: Red Rock
the town reminds me of evans head when i was a bare footed grom at the local school, though it seems a bit inbred and freaks me out a bit. as shearer said, some great options nearby, go forth and enjoy What's Evans like to live in ... I got a couple of kids too. Good place for kids and for a surfer...

Now's not the time to be cryptic Shearer! The only thing I love more than camping is my children.
I have taken your softly cast pilchard and just taken 150 metres off your spool.

Funny you mention that. Just spooled up my 3000 exceler with some 15lb braid and bought a couple of packs of those spastic soft things that Fong loves.alakaboo wrote:Yep.Braithy wrote:Anyone surfed there?
Pack a fishing rod, good gutters.
Caught a flattie the size of me arm 2 weeks ago with a nuclear chicken prawn.

Re: Whose Life is it anyway
... it crossed my mind to write one too, long before it would have been an idea for Tracks and Sean too. But I wasn't prepared to be put in a position of exploitation for the Petersons. So I didn't. Happily cop to the rest, Chine, but this insinuation sits a little uncomfortably with me. Care to el...

Re: Whose Life is it anyway
And Braithy was this relationship not cultivated with the express or implicit purpose of soliciting material for publication? Or did you just happen to strike up a friendship with him, purely platonically? Glad you asked Steve. It started out by an idea I had. I had - and still do to this day - a b...

Re: Whose Life is it anyway
Jesus Carroll. I got a 5000 word case study due Monday and need to complete a website from scratch in 3 weeks time. I got no hope while you're throwing threads like this out there. This is a topic really close to me. I did a lot of work with MP and his mum when I was at surfing life. Met them numero...

Re: your last surf for a good while
... in contrast to steve's story. My last surf before I headed out to Alice springs for 2 years was uneventful. February storm swell at burleigh. Big storm, lots of gail force onshores and rain for a week, then the sky lifted and wind swung offshore. Every man and his dog got out there for the...

Re: One board for Sale.
I guess anything's possible Reg. I'd rate the chances of our dog attacking, less than all four of us dying in a head-on on the PAC highway, though. We're dog people, from dog families. My uncle trains police dogs, Ann's mum breeds dogs and we learned a bunch on dog training when we lived on the gold...

Re: One board for Sale.
Ok, it'll keep your kids safe. What about the 4 yr old who wanders into your yard when no-one is home? He's fundamentally a guard dog bred to protect territory. Will he rip that poor kid to shreds? No! Not even close. We're responsible dog owners who have pumped a ton of time into training the dog....

Re: Andy Irons Dies
Braithy the ASP has had a drugs policy for many years based on the WADA banned drugs list, but the organisation (pause for amazed gasp) has never taken responsibility for conducting the actual tests. That has been left to the discretion of regional offices and individual events. As you can imagine,...

A poodle is gonna be a tough sell around these parts.
I value my dogs over a fair percent of people I meet ... And I wouldn't own a poodle.

Re: One board for Sale.
No disrespect Braithy but they're exactly the kind of dogs that maim and kill kids. Seems the cure is more dangerous than the tiny chance of a disease. No disrespect at all Steve. I will say this though: Dogs, certain breeds get a bad wrap. You get a few bogan owners in western sydney who encourage...

Re: One board for Sale.
I got a great dog. 6 month old rotty pup. Tips the scales at 48 kilos and is about half size I reckon. He'll already ferociously defend his family with his life. Which is piece of mind if I'm down the coast doing an overnighter. It'd take a shotgun to stop him ... and by and large most people don't ...

Re: Andy Irons Dies
Your assumption that they are super fit, may not always be true either. Dane reynolds needed to go on a drip to surf Trestles. Now, that is not super fit. I don't understand on one hand, how the ASP and big surf companies want the tour to have credibility and to be on the map as a global, marketabl...

Reminds me of that Gerry Lopez quote Digger,
