Re: are surftech boards any good??

Anyone tried the thunderbolt technology that tolhurst uses?

They look like the modern progressed version of tuflite.
People ride them well.
A bit light in weight for me but good in the right conditions.

Re: are surftech boards any good??

I actually surfed a tuflite over Easter weekend.
Way over volumed I know.
I could turn it though.
I had fun getting through flat sections in the 2ft clean grovelly waves.
I just wouldn’t buy it to keep.
It’s not a feeling of hatred that they are terrible.
I just don’t want one.

Re: are surftech boards any good??

I even hated the feel of the tuflite mal I rode back then. Think it was a BIC. I'm just about to get a local lesser known but accomplished shaper to start making my boards, so that I can have a closer involvement in the process. Something that I'm quite excited about. PU all day every day. Nice. I ...

Re: are surftech boards any good??

I can ride over and under volumed boards of other constructions and they’ve still felt nice.
Tuflites don’t, I’m sorry cranked.

Re: are surftech boards any good??

And I’m talking specifically about tuflites.
Haven’t rode those alohas.
They look like they’d be nicer than tuflite.

Re: are surftech boards any good??

Everyone tried them because they thought they might be able to get a one-off forever board.

But then they didn’t want to be stuck with a corky dog for life.

Anyway, to each their own. I and many others think they feel like shit under foot and perform funny, obviously you and others don’t have a problem.
Big deal.

Re: are surftech boards any good??

There was a denigration campaign?
Most punters just don’t like the way they ride.

Yeah, SUP's as a fad kind of died out too.

Or morphed into a less surf-centric activity.
What’s with the goat boat revival up here?
I’m seeing a few less sups but bloody heaps more goat boats.

Re: Just general surfing stuff

I understood your original question beans and I made no point about that, I just clarified a point for you regarding you saying he hasn't met them, which he was only referring specifically to realsurfers. I can't tell if you're being deliberately obtuse in trolling me or just a complete fucking idio...
