I understand there is some wild CCTV footage of the Same Page incident but won't be made public til court proceedings against bouncer go further. No matter what happened for the bouncer to be in court suggests he has acted way beyond reasonable force. They are supposed to be able to handle a bit of ...

Sent off an email today. Got an old but in great nic double flyer pin 6'4" single with gloss glass job should suit. Watched My Name Is Earl and the kharma was coming outta the TV: do it, it said! One of the mags had a yarn about this village a while ago and they are deadset legends; the boards made ...

Love fish/shortboard no leggie surfs IF it's pygmy and uncrowded and no swimmers in the shorey. Never use one when on the mal but am always conscious of those around me. Those blokes mentioned at Narra are the type who may screw it for everyone; I understand several yankee beaches are now compulsary...

I remember a pic of at least one board she made: trully bizarre thing with the nose being almost exactly like a rounded square tail!!! Of course it had pretty wild pagan spray job too, and might have even have had handles and I think it didn;t actually have fins. Actually more I think it looked a bi...

Nick C's spot on with the connection betwen the recent heavy rain and the nutrients and the baitfish/predators (you a closet fisho Nick?). We haven't had full on close-in baitfish slaughters at DY for about five years now _ drought on land, drought at sea is the old salt's saying. The five years or ...

If the water's clear and the noah is up near surface colours are a give away. Tiger's are a light tan through to bronze-brown and the stripes across their back are very obvious 'til they die! They have a big boofy blunt head too. Blue sharks and makos are both incredible electric blue backed though ...

Not surprised; was out at poles this morning muckin about on the fish (appropriate) and there were heaps of bait gettin hammered by what looked like Watsons Leaping Bonito and frigates! Had a pod of em smash baby pillies about three feet away. Got a whiff of that really fishy oily smell which accomp...

So Bonka do you eat fish/seafood? Which is better? a bloke who catches a small shark on hook and line at a beach (no by-catch, no snagging no damage to bottom struture), treats his catch properly and cuts the head off to bleed it (removes the amonia smell from the flesh of many sharks) so it will ta...

Paid $49.95  on the weekend for Sipping Jetstreams. Actually, probably worth it. Forgotten how damn good stuff shot on film rather than video looks like. It's as much travel porn as it is surfing vid and not sure many groms could handle it, but I was gobsmacked by some of the scenes. Stunning...

Hey Hamish; don't be afraid of short 80s thrusters, my mate's board, like Swift's, is 2 3/4 thick and my mate's board is only 6ft. They made em chunky pre-bloody Slater and his potato chips!!!! Thickness is your friend (in so many ways :P just ask any girl). Makes fat sections easy and the old one I...

Sometimes has the odd interesting yarn or pic but for the most part it is pretty crapulous, though crapulous on high quality stock. My take is someone said "hey lets do a Tracks in its glory days mag for the naughties". Y'know, when Tracks ran stuff apart from surfing; vege recipes or how to convert...

Early 80s thruster better than fish?
Hiya; bit jaded with everything at the mo so took mate's old 80s thruster (he took it to Bali on our first trip in '83!) into the small junky Sydney surf and had a ball!! Must say I found it to be as good, if not better, than the fishy style boards I have been riding in the pygmy stuff. This thing i...

Re-watched the Shapers section in one of the Quiksilver freebie with a mag DVDs a few nights ago. Really interesting. Simon talks about spending the first ten years of shaping being more worried about "smoothing out the bumps and nicks etc" and only then getting into the real tennants of shaping: fo...
