Re: DUMB MISTAKES

Digger, why not just redraw the tail outline and make it a double ender with the nose and tail the same? Mate I have done so many stuff ups on the 2 boards I have done its not funny. My worst one was after reading that I needed to heat the epoxy up a bit, putting it in the microwave for too long and...

Re: Take Away dim-SIM

Damo, I cant comment on that as I havnt ridden one but I would guess that Mark has done quite a few tweaks on those original style mini simmons and that makes a lot of diffrerence. I would liken it to comparing a twin keel fish to a high performance twin fin. Same number of fins and rough planshape ...

Re: Take Away dim-SIM

Cuttlefish, I'll chime in here if thats ok. I have ridden a 5'7 twin keel for the last few years on and off. For me, the dim sim felt very similar to the twin keel in the way that it gets up to speed really quickly and feels quite flat rocker wise under your feet. That is where the similarities end ...

Re: Take Away dim-SIM

Ok, reluctantly I have passed the Dim-sim onto Steve. I only got a few sessions on it but the way the waves have been lately they were all good for testing. My 8yr old had a go on sunday and he gave it a big thumbs up. I think he liked having a board that short. My brother took it out yesterday and ...

Re: Take Away dim-SIM

Have only had a chance for 1 surf so far but thought i better do a quick report. The waves were only small waist to chest high. a bit sectiony for snapper but still longish rides. The board was quite surprising. I was expecting it to feel quite different. It has the get up and go of my twin keel fis...

Re: Take Away dim-SIM

Any chance it will make it down to the border by the 9th?
I have a week off work and we are going camping down the coast.

Cheers,

Re: A shaping challenge

My board has been finished and ridden. I dont have any pics yet tho. I have had 3 surfs so far and I'm pretty happy with it. it paddles really well and gets through fatter sections easily. I havnt had a chance to do many good turns yet but it feels really good under foot. The costmetics are pretty o...

Re: Ripping off Dane Reynolds.

cool, my first board I made last year looks like those
I just tried to do a fish but put a diamond tail on it instead of a swallow.
pity that at 5'7 x 19 its a tad too small for me so cant give a good ride report.

Re: A shaping challenge

i have heard that small dints in the foam can sometimes come out by blowing hot air from a hairdryer onto it. dont just blast it, go slowly heat it up a bit at a time.

just hear say tho as i havnt tried it.
