Re: New Forum Page

Can someone explain to me what those things on the left of the topics on the Active Topics page are? The circles with the red star & the lines moving in them, and the ones shaped like a lightbulb. I'm actually getting a bit bugged out by them.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Wandered down to North Steyne to see the 'shark spotted today, enter the water at your own risk' signs up. Few people out & lining up pretty nicely, at least compared to the last few days so I ventured out. Kept an eye out as the water was a bit murky & got 4 or 5 waves before seeing a bit of moveme...

Re: Does surfing under the influence enhance the experience.

Never surfed under the influence but got baked on a ski lift once a long time ago & lost all skiing ability. Took forever to get down the bottom without seriously injuring myself & I went straight home. I reckon I'd drown if I did the same surfing.

Re: General snow stuff

That looked like a LOT of fun & I didn't see too many other tracks. Yep, I'm jealous. I'm guessing you wear a helmet? Solo tree runs could be a bit risky if you clip a tree or worse, end up head first in a tree well. I managed to get 6 stitches in my noggin many years ago when I clipped a low hangin...

Re: General snow stuff

Turning down the sound reminded me of how quiet it is in the trees, especially after a big dump (of snow).

Makes me want to quit the job & head to the northern hemisphere. Nice video Legion.

Fast Eddie needs to buy a decent pair of sunnies that actually fit his head.

That pic actually flatters him. Trust me, I've seen him flailing about & making a pest of himself.

Re: Drop in on Tony Abbott

and don't forget the rest of that paragraph:

"Mr Abbott is notorious for surfing hard after snapping two surfboards last year, but My Wet Camera photographer Matt Withaar said he had a smooth style during Wednesday’s calm afternoon swell."

You've got to be shitting me.

BD what I'm saying is that you should be held in the same esteem as the likes of Karl Lagerfield for your contribution to the world of female fashion, but as we know it's the pioneers who lay the groundwork only for others to collect the spoils.

Re: Indo...is it worth it

my income doesn't come close to cracking the tax-free threshold...hence 15-year-old board, bought second hand 10 years ago for $120. it's already been sacrificed on a few pacific island reefs. When I read this knowing you were responsible for the 'Brazilian'* I get choked up at the unfairness of th...

Re: Ad agency creatives lurve surfing

I'm old enough to remember when surfing was the domain of drug users & other ne'er-do-wells. Sometimes I even fondly recall the days of paddling out on the Manly strip through slicks of untreated sewerage, pre-ocean outfall.

Re: RS BBQ Syd Dec 13 Sat - Longy then SurryHills/CBD/InnerW

I just had a family lunch pulled on me for the 13th in the city for members of the family who won't be around at Xmas time so I'm out of the Long Reef component. Will be happy for the drink though. Is that locked in yet?

^^^ Yeah some are likeable but that underlying colonial attitude seems present in most of them. And fcuk there's a lot of them. My kids' school at pick-up time sounds like being in London but with good weather. And NC you forget that Manly at State level was held by independents for a number of year...
