When you are fit and confident a wipeout can be just like a fun park ride. When you are struggling they take on very sinister tones indeed.
That quote is on the money, the fitter you are and the more water time you have been logging makes wipeouts more bearable and even enjoyable.

I love that MTV show the 808 which is an extended Wolfpak promo/ marketing piece.

Beating people up in the surf and on the beach is sooo totally awesome.

Rumour has it that slater has now quit the tour and definitely won't be showing up at J-Bay. Apparently he is over surfing and wants to focus on his golf and boning Leo decaprio's cast offs.

From what I've heard Bruce is absolutely loaded due to being given Volcom stock years ago in lieu of a bigger contract (before volcom became massive). He has no reason to do the tour financially and probably has come to the realisation that he doesn't have the requisite drive to chase a world title ...

I don't know if I would call it "insane danger"

If You want flexibility try and get a web based business going. I haven't done it, yet but I reckon its perfect to chase waves in that you can work remotely e.g.: bali, hossegor, raglan etc and if you run it right you can get paid in US$ and live somewhere way cheaper. I deal with a few people throu...

Fark when I was surfing at Bronte this morning I saw a number of decent size fish jump out of the water at least 3-4 times.

This may explain what was chasing them.

Probably safest if we all avoid surfing Bronte over the next few days.

Where I surfed this morning it was pumping an easy 3-4 foot with the odd bigger one brushed to perfection by brisk offshores. All that and a rad pink lightening cloud thing on dawn to add to the general vibe of awesomeness :D

Don't mean to change the subject from putting the boot into surf journo's from a safe distance but I just watched the highlights package and Mick was absolutely blazing. Maybe I was counting too fast but one barrel at Restaurants must have been nudging 10 seconds. Then again I might be an overfrothi...

I work for a search marketing agency doing a mixture of consulting and client management. Monday to Friday Start 9(ish) finish 6(ish). As I am fortunate enough to live 2ks from work and live near the beach this allows for earlies during winter and either the early or the late during daylight saving/...

Hardcore climbing kind of pisses on a lot of other sports in terms of risks V reward. I have a lot of respect for the pain and near deat h experiences Mountaineers happily seek out and subject themselves to.

The south coast is inconsistent, fickle and when It is on is frequently crowded. To get decent south swell exposure you arer much better to head north to Newy & Beyond. IMHO the south coast is rarely worth the drive....

I read the piece in Stab - Fark it sounds like Sarge is in serious denial about being gay. I feel sorry for the recipients of his unwanted attention - not exactly what you want from an older respected guy in the Surf industry who would frequently have younger surfers in his care.
