Re: Stringerless epoxy crease repair

Is this a troll Jet? Why would you buy a fundamentally fcuked board? Forget about it. Definitely not a troll. We live in such a f#@ked up repair by replacement culture that I thought i’d try to give it a second life. I’ve just never owned let alone damaged a stringerless epoxy board. Worth the ques...

Stringerless epoxy crease repair

Never surfed a stringerless epoxy. There’s a creased board on the bumtree which is a perfect size for me. (Gary McNeill entity) It’s not completely snapped, has a crack along the bottom around the middle of the board. Rough cost to repair? How much difference from a freshie? It’s looks pretty good o...

Outline looks quite like a waterskate, which I seem to recall you used to have - any similarities?
The waterskate isn’t as refined. Boxier rails. Wider tail, slightly more round nose. I’d prefer the crossbreed in bigger surf.

Re: Midlengths

81kg, 177cm. 37years. Average Intermediate surfer. Board 6’10 x 21 x 2 7/8 41L. I’m not the best at board reviews to be honest. But for what it’s worth: I didn’t have too much trouble getting used to it as I’ve spent a fair bit of time on a 7’2 firewire seaxe. I’d call the crossbreed a more performa...

Re: Sumba

I wonder how old you can be and still get barrelled? Well I've always felt there's getting barrelled and there's getting barrelled over razor sharp coral.....and there's getting barrelled over razor sharp coral in a remote part of a third world country. My basic calculations with surf relate to cro...

Re: Sumba

Sounds like about at my skill level these days. Keen for a few low key surf jaunts in the next year. Go hard beany, don't go soft cock. Go to the telos, ment's end. Good waves there. Keep your heart pumping. Settle down, Duck. I know my limits. I would potentially go to the Ments but it would reall...

Re: Sumba

Righto boys, get a drink and have a read. These are some notes I jotted down as things popped into my head while i was over there. I was very appreciative of all the feedback leading up to the trip so fair’s fair... Plan a trip when tides have minimal difference. Most breaks we surfed were quite aff...

Re: Sumba

Our flight from Bali to Tambolaka got cancelled by Garuda citing “Operational Reasons”. We’ve had to rebook that leg with Wings Air. I’ve googled, tripadvisored and all that. Seems we’ll be stung 200,000 rups per board each way. Does anyone have actual experience in terms of board lengths you’ve had...

Re: Midlengths

Took it for a paddle up at the beachie on Saturday. Conditions less than ideal. 2ft @ the alley. Was nice to get a feel for it. Great size board for me. Love how it paddles. Can’t wait to get it in that 3-4ft range. You would be almost packing for Sumba by now? Like the dims of that board - I think...
