Re: Most inconsistent waves in Australia

Surely NT has some points that would work on the right cyclone swell? That is, if you don't mind the crocs, sharks and stingers!

Broughton Island has a few novelty waves with the right swell... and you'll have it all to yourself. There's a much better one in that area which will remain un-named. :-o

Forecast for Autumn - better than the crap Huey dished up in summer. I'm sick of surfing small onshore windswell, goddammit!

Re: 5 Most Consistant Waves in Australia

Rather than picking particular waves/breaks, the real question should be "what are the most consistent coastlines for swell in australia?"

Of course the correct answer is anywhere but QLD! :P Although Margaret River would have to be up there for year-round swell/surfability.

Look into a stay at Nusa Lembongan. Nice and quiet, no constant haggling from the locals, and you overlook a few fun reef breaks within paddling distance. The boat trip over can be fun though!

Only under a full moon... none of that stupid torch-strapped-to-a-helmet crap that Marcus was attempting!

Funnily enough, Marcus used to frequent the wave I'm talking about though I never let on that I knew him online.

Re: Serious injury at the Pass

I was surfing on a small day at my local reef over summer, about 25m away from 10 guys on the inside section. I dived off the back of a 2ft wave and somehow received a dislocated shoulder and pinched nerve. Despite being a short distance away the other surfers didn't notice me attempting to swim in ...

Fanning vs Slater for the final. Fanning with a last minute win in the semi... Slater with a perfect 20 already this morning. 3-)
My money's on Slater to grab another tour win.

Parko has guaranteed himself 5th place at worst, thus... If Parkinson finishes 5th at the Billabong Pipe Masters: - Slater needs a 5th or higher to take the 2012 ASP World Title. Re: my prediction for summer

I reckon we'll have a very quiet cyclone season, not much action until Jan/Feb... with a late season severe cyclone tracking down the Coral Sea a la Sose or Wati to finish it off. People will proclaim it to be a great cyclone season on the back of this single event, quickly forgetting the inevitable...

I surprisingly had Flat Rock to myself this morning, save for a few dolphins. Knowing there were 40 guys jostling for average shoreys only 200m away made it even more enjoyable!

The dead whale that washed up at Dixon Park Beach in Newcastle 2 years ago is being uncovered by the erosion. Looks like they didn't bury it deep enough!

For the record, 2 year old whale rotten whale blubber does NOT smell very nice

Seen ya out there last night Marcus but didn't venture out. Will probably go for some of the same later tonight when the moon is nice and high - no need for the torches then! Hopefully the swell hangs in there...
