bondi was crazed yesterday. 200 people? maybe more? and about 2 rideable waves every 10mins. unbelievable. still, the best surfers got the best rides. and i saw a mal rider (surprise! he could surf!) get a real nice barrel. but for the rest of us stuck in the middle of the food chain it was utter mi...

larry - you have to be kidding? layne denying a bloke a chance for the top??? if he's any good and the sheilas are so crap then it won't be a problem eh? don't think andy irons looks too worried about his chances for 2004 being ruined by female competition....and if the rest of the wct/wqs are bitic...

layne ain't perfect but she doesn't deserve all the shit either. i don't see too many discussion groups here about how sunny garcia is a sub normal thug who resorts to violence at the drop of a hat. he's a prick of the highest order in my opinion - and a very bad example as a professional surfer (wo...

she might have a chance - why not? in any comp there's an element of chance - if the right waves comes her way she could do ok. i personally don't get all the layne-bashing. there's just as many big gob egotistical male surfers out there who behave like morons - and don't have anything like the comp...

bondi - is consistently more surfable (south is predominant swell and wind direction) than tama/bronte. i find bronte too much of a hassle to get waves when reef is working. the vibe is ok though - you just won't get many waves. tama is my pick. can hold a good size left from outside maccas thru acr...

benchong - at what point does a board become acceptably difficult to ride for you to allow surfers of moderate ability to ride them?!! why draw the line at mals? mini mals, fish, boards over 19inches wide etc are all crutches to help slow, office bound desk jockeys (like you and me!) get waves. you ...

ha! benchong - yr only bitter cos the waves have been crap for the last two centurys or something. but yeah, it seems the majority of longboarders make no effort to actually ride a mal well - mostly it's just an easy way to get a wave, stand there waving your arms and then bail out in front of the n...

tuflite

had a 5'10 tuflite fun/fish shape for a few months. paddled exceptionally fast due to light weight and bouyancy. but it surfed kinda weird (like me!) 'cos of the float factor. it moved really quick but felt like it was going to spin or jump out of the wave when trying to push it a bit harder. i thin...
