epoxy glassing gold coast/tweed area

Hey guys, Anyone know where a good place to get a board glassed with epoxy? I have had a block of eps in the garage for a few years waiting for me to get the time / motivation to shape another board. I am just going to bite the bullet and get it cut on a machine and get it glassed properly. My last ...

Re: Fantasy surfer comp

I have had Wilko in my team all year expecting him to blow up at least once.
I dropped him for this event and he comes out and blitzes the first round. I hope he goes on with it and re-qualifies.

Re: Board for grommet with paddling issues?

My young bloke turns 10 soon and I just got him a new 5'0 . He was riding a 5'9 but was struggling to duck dive it. he is still struggling to sink this one, but it is better. He can paddle on to them if he is in the right spot but I usually paddle behind him and give a shove to help out. I think the...

Re: make stool, not war

go with the bonzer look and put a big centre fin in as well to see how it goes.
you probably could of cut the thickness down to 2.5 with that width.
would probably be good to teach the kids on tho

Re: cork for the backyarders

hey guys,
where is the best place to get cork if I just want enough to retrofit to the deck of a 6'9?

Re: Summer Board - help me decide

I've seen that board / pic ... on here too? Is it beerfans? Not beerfan, Nocean from NZ i think who does some nice boards. thinking about this some more... what spots are you looking to ride this at? I reckon for the back beaches near us a standard shorty like you have been making is fine. short pe...

Re: Summer Board - help me decide

Wingnut, how about something like this http://www2.swaylocks.com/files/IMG_3726.JPG saw it over at swaylocks. i think for small back beach waves something that paddles well but is nice and curvey so you can still throw it around a bit. like a shrunken mini mal as this one is only 5'3. I reckon a 5'7...

Re: The Real Surf Backyarderz ... who are you?

I guess you could add me to the newbies list. I have done 2 boards. First was an eps from scratch using a hotwire for the rocker, outline and railbands. Vac bagged some balsa on the deck and carbon rails. I spent way too much time reading on swaylocks :) It ended up a bit small for me so its hanging...

I think the best commentator I have heard was Phil MacNamara at the Burleigh WQS comp i think. Phil is very experienced coach and he had some great comments about technique, wave selection and heat tactics that I found much more interesting than the usual "fwore, he's going to town" stuff that usual...

Re: Totally STOCKED ... gidget's first wave

My 6 yr old stood up for the first time on Saturday as well. She had a grin from ear to ear. She has always loved the water and has preferred to just swim than try surfing when I have asked her before. This time she said ok and was up and riding straight away. I think its important to find the right...

Re: Summer of ASurf

Down in the bottom garden to pull out a few farmers friends and keep the beds weeded, I discovered stink bugs on the citrus trees. These things are evil, black and loathsome, they will lift their hindquarters and squirt a toxic, foul smelling liquid over anyone who disturbs them. I thought they had...

digger,
why not ask someone like yorky if you can just buy what you need as you need it. he probably gets it by the drum and might not mind selling you a litre or 2 at a time.
