Kreepykrawly, Long, long ago, before I had my cute babies, I was being followed by a nice pack of Boys. I used to think that they were just friends, as we used to do lots of hiking and bush walking stuff. Mind you, they were mostly just good for carrying heavy things, so I mostly took my girlfriends ...

does your surfing change as you get old(er)?
.
Well, old ones and not so old ones, does your surfing improve with age as all good things should, or is it decaying with the rest of your body?
Has more experience make surfing a different thing for you as you find some wisdom in the world?

OK Betty....I'll be serious.......... I've got a pair of quiksilver booties that are about as close to bare feet as you'll get but keep my feet warm in the middle of winter down here. They've got a semi soft sole so you still maintain that sensitive board contact and also a semi split toe (about 5 ...

Thanks for the comments, gentlemen. The size which isn't too loose around the arch is a bit too short for my big toe. I have bought some O'Neil booties which are an improvement on painfully cold bare feet after half an hour. Unfortunately, they are making my big toe numb. Oh well, maybe i can do som...

booties for girls
Does anyone know of a good winter bootie for girls. I have tried on most of the men's brands; o'neil, billabong, quicksilver, peak, and the size 7 (US) mens is too wide and fat, and a bit short, too. The size 8 is like clown shoes on me. Roxy is the only potential bootie with a narrower women's cut ...

Longyfreshy, What board did you finally get? I am a bit shorter and lighter than you but not much, and am thinking of getting a similar board; one that catches lots of waves but still turns and hopefully duck dives. I currently have a 6'4" by 20" by 2 3/4" McCoy nugget. It is almost time for a small...

I just bought a new o'neil sealed seam wetsuit; an Epic, I think. It 's their "basic" sealed wetsuit, which i got on special for $200. I am happy with it although it isn't that cold yet. Ask me in a few months whether I should have spent the extra $300 for a superstretchy, extra seam sealed, zipper ...

My 7 year old daughter started last season to boogieboard by herself. Before that she was too scared to go swimming or go in the waves. Now she loves catching waves (whitewash) by herself and is much better at picking the right waves than us. She will even tolerate a few gentle dumpings . I think th...
