Re: Winter

2-3ft surf barely gets my pulse rate above comatose. I'd rather rockfish mostly when it's small.

I want some fcuking proper surf and winter is when we should be getting it.

Re: Winter

N.Wall hasn't had decent banks for a year or more. It was about 70% of the way back when this last swell hit. From the S so Ballina copped the brunt of it.

S.Wall bits and pieces but generally speaking tidak bagus.

Looks like I might have to start driving further afield to surf.

Can't put up with another winter with no banks.

Re: Winter

Very poorly. Minus a mechanical sand transport bypass system it's a 3-6month turnaround after a storm surf bashing. We were about 2/3 there after successive events late Jan/Feb. This one has just about cleaned out the cupboard again. over it. This is the June 2012 Fiji deep groundswell/ECL combo tha...

Re: Winter

yesterday was really fun.

today, too stormy. I think the speed with which that low is heading E will save the banks from too much of a pounding.

Not that the banks are anything that grand to be saving.

Re: Winter

No rain here, mod SW winds, rising SE swell.

I think we were just far enough north to escape the storm and get the swell :-)(

Re: Winter

Nothing too radical Oddap. Just looks like a slightly better positioned fetch and wind orientation within that fetch for this part of the world. And the low moves away quite quickly with the possibility of a morning land breeze when the swell is still on. It won't be all time but it doesn't look lik...

Re: Ask Carroll

But I've always wondered why aren't surf mags (or at least one surf mag) more like golf or fishing mags. Pick up a golf magazine and it will have a few interviews with pros and up and comers, maybe someone behind the scenes, sort of similar to surfing mags. But then, and this is the big difference,...
