Re: My new board (pics)

Thank you!
Is it the light or is there a roll or chine in/under the nose? Perhaps just my eyes playing tricks.
Regardless looks mightly fine and 6' 6" can be very playful

Re: The big guy's small wave shredding implement- The Dumpli

UThirtsty - Ah now I see, actually he may have mentioned at the time he did a short stint at Brookie when we were discussing where I was gonna ride the board he made me. It was 6'3" and a single fin pintail with flyers. The brand he made them under was "Precision Equipment" and he had this idyllic w...

Re: The big guy's small wave shredding implement- The Dumpli

Uncle - Tom Hoye was the fella supposedly the one to bring twinnies to Aust. But he was set up over in WA. I got board from him in 1980 when I was living/working at Margarets - not a twinnie, but it went great. How the heck did you end up with one - if you were riding it at the Bower - would have be...

So Roy - you look to have (well from the vids you post) to be carrying a small verandah yourself. :?
But I'd rather comment on old mates line - looks good to me

Re: How about a sticky...

All of the above - and I've done my last two on the back deck with tarps up. Doesn't make me very popular - but hey, its one of my pleasures/passions like the other addicts. Now I'm older so here's some dims in inches. As Digger said a block of wood with various sandpapers etc stuck on. I use too a ...

Re: Thruster, the easiest setup to get right?

Beery and MP - thanks for the clarification. Interesting - I have an 8' 2'' more pintail than round like yours and usely ride it as a 2 + 1 - but I have a thruster fin too that MP had made for a board he made for me. In the 8'2'' it goes quite nicely as a 2+1, but I reckon i may give it a go with th...

Re: Thruster, the easiest setup to get right?

Beery - I'm missing the measurement bit here. Do you mean that the middle fin is set 7 and 1/2 up from the tail (and would that be the trailing edge of the middle fin is 7 and 1/2 up) - or the leading edge of the middle fin?
Or ?????

Oh - yes I see :D it looks very sad there and dirty and all sorts of unpleasant. Damn it was this time last year I was packing my bags for Sumatra  Oh well as you say - you surf yourself silly and then regret at leisure not going out again.

Re: Show us your guns!

Kayu - yeah well familiar with Dick and had a few boards in my time from him back from early 80s. As Cuttlefish knows too - he has a very solid following of folks that love his designs of all sorts of craft in all sorts of materials. I thought (though the brain is not as good as it was) that Mike D ...

Re: Show us your guns!

So Kayu - looks mighty fine as I say. And so DVS and Mike D - they are both Gold Coast inhabitants??? - does that mean you are too?? Did you get to the Currumbin Wooden Boards show in early Aug. I had to bail by 9.30 and not all exhibiters were set up by then- but there were some truly beauitiful cr...

Re: Show us your guns!

Hey WingNut they sure are cool looking pintails. I'm a sucker for the shape and will almost always opt for similar. Care to put some dimensions to them - just for curiosity sake. Again though nice sticks
