Re: Josh Dowling Designs

vote number 731 just logged Josh.

Unfortunately you are up against some dame who does fancy high heeled shoes.

No way the surfing community can contest the shoe fetishist women community. We're outnumbered 700,000 to 1.

... Don't look any further. I did and settled on this. ... Did you, or have you looked at, or seen anyone using, the Softech TC Pro? Has anyone any feedback on the Softech TC Pro? Can't say I have wingnut. Sounds like you took the plunge anyway. I didn't have any problems with the TC's other than t...

Re: Bali quiver advice...

Heading there in April, just two boards, my only two boards actually (got another which is a keepsake, 6'6'' bamboo) A 6'2'' roundtail quad, my standard board, and a 6'10'' cruiser. I call it a cruiser 'cause it's got lots of foam and is like riding an armchair. Will be good for those days when the ...

Re: this girl's gold.

Yeah look as the thread starter I just want to register my disgust and offense at the turn it's taken. Just to clarify would like to point out that my previous post was purely in jest. Regarding the original topic, I'm just not game to start. This, sure she's game as. I just fear for the acid in th...

She had cred with me until I noticed that she was carrying her board with the waxed top-side against her body. >><< And chrisb, you had cred with me until you implied that you carry your board with the wax away from your body. Now would be the time to admit you're a qld'er, or a victorian. How sad.

Re: TC Freda

Re: TC Freda

what you are saying olds is that as long as there is a cyclone out there, there is gunna be a decent swell...i call bullshit. . I thought I was just saying that your comment that cyclones don't create swell without an abutting high was a glorious simplification of incredibly complex phenomena (i.e....

Re: TC Freda

No he doesn't (talk bullshit that is). Yes he does Nick. It was a gross simplification, and wrong. Please don't argue that cyclones don't produce swell without a corresponding high and long fetch. You only have to look back two seeks to see that is wrong, in that the previous cyclone had no fetch t...

"We do not foresee the eight daylight hours of consistent 20- to 25-foot deep water swell (wave face heights of approximately 40 feet) that is the minimum requirement for this event to run." Re: TC Freda

Nice introduction to 2013.

Rron, there might be some south swell as well to mix things up a bit down south.

Either way, there is going to be swell in the water for more than just a few days, but at this stage not so sure about the winds being favourable.

Ah well, I'll take what I can get.

I don't know but maybe this is part of why Derek was in Hawaii... http://www.smh.com.au/business/buyout-could-revive-billabongs-fortunes-20121217-2bj93.html when a smart business writer like Ms Ferguson starts talking up private ownership, it's worth paying attention. I don't rate Ferguson as a bus...

Re: Tail pad for beginners or just wax?

To put it simply surfiec, if you have a tail pad you won't need to apply wax to the bottom of your board, ever.

Everything else is just personal preference. Makes no difference whether beginner or superstar.

I am surprised this isn't a 12 page thread already. What happened, the novelty wear off?

Will be interesting to see how long it takes for the swell to get here, and how long it will last.

Early season for cyclones in this part of the world.
