Re: First OS surf trip.
Damage just back safe & sound from 10 days in the Telos. Good time had by all. Swell tailed off a bit in the second half but jeezus it was a bloody surfing marathon so to be honest I didn't really mind. First time I've ever had to duck-dive a dead pig too. Now back to my 5000 phone mssgs/emails :-D-...

Ha! You remember. Nice one Boo.

Re: Summer 2013-'14
I was going to go camping with the cheese and tin lids down on the river this week; I've just seen the forecast. I should pull the pin shouldn't I?
Would just like to know if it's gonna be a little bit or a LOT of rain? Anyone?

Re: Where did you surf today ?
So I had about an hour and a half at DY point this morning. Had heaps of fun. Not great conditions as the wind started to get into it but the size generally made up for it. Couldn't believe how few were out. Saturday morning and all. But there was a comp on, the surf tag thing? No one (from the comp...

Well it was a bit of fcuken everything there wasn't it? Female out of depth x not a great performance on the ski x big big surf = a massive fcukup. I mean, fair dinkum, making spilt second decisions on some mechanical waterhorse with 30 feet of whitewater bearing down on you. faaaaark :!: Just how w...

Laminar flow, momentum, froude number, reynolds number, turbulence, propellers, impellers, 'jets'...

Re: Fin size vs surfer weight
Jeeze. You see, I'm a structural engineer. 20 years experience. I understand forces, vectors, drag , leverage, reactions both equal and opposite etc etc > all in their 'classic' senses. Why is it that intuitively I find myself completely at sea whenever I read discussions about fins and fin behavior...

For a while, I employed a Bangladeshy fella who was convinced their were no gay blokes in his home country.
Had some pre-historic views and was also pretty useless at his job.
