That was an amazing little burst of energy there folks. Who'd a thunk chess and poker could have woken up such latent enthusiasm. Must be all that spare time folks have sitting in airports in faraway places or deserted island paradises waiting for the next swell to arrive. And for the record - its I...

Offy - I did neglect to mention that one is a model too. BUT, they are both my daughters. Thanks for the advice on the photog stuff, but I'm not a Butts and only want to post a couple of the boards I made so that Mr. Vidal and perhaps Mr. Fongal can cast their critical eyes over my recent des...

There's a lot of mention of "Coolites" with rubber fins - but the Coolite I learned on had no fin at all. They had like 2 "keels" that ran the length of the board almost and were maybe an inch high and about 3 inches in from the rail. At that same if you were really lucky you had a "Barton" board wh...

Salty, Loonytunes sounds about right - but I always thought those cartoons were way too advanced for kids anyway. A lot of their humour, and it looks like in these forums too - goes straight over the top. Cats - open arms perhaps - closed mind might be more of a problem. OMP - I live in a house with...

OK - Ric - you've got your Sherlock Holmes "deer stalker" on today I see. 100% hit rate so far. I'm of the Ian - not Neal vintage. And yes, one bench up from yours to the south. And yes again - I will need help with the board pics as I did email to a few mates and crashed their mail. Any advice Offs...

7' Stringerless Wallace pintail with a huge floral fin and more rocker than you would have thought possible. It cost $45 in 1967, bought it from Bennetts first factory in Brookvale.

Dae - this "hazing" thing? Thats a weather term right! - its real hazy up here on the Goldie today. There's a bizarre yellowish tinge to the sky since dawn. On the boards front. Yes at The Alley and Snapper - but its been pretty piss weak up here - though there was enough wall and down the line even...

Coops, as I said - I've been reading about it all for years. Like most things - the actually doing is always different to the whispers and the stories. So on that basis, it was painless, easy and I now do have an obscure sense of fulfillment. Was that what was "promised"??? I think I'll have to try ...

Newbie - but only to posting

After many years reading various forums topics on a daily basis, I've decided to join the fun. Seems I know many of your names and characters (or maybe not) and indeed do actually know one of your very regular "technical" posters out there in RealSurf land. I'm on the wrong side of 50 and live and s...
