Re: Where did you surf today ?

Cronulla Point for the first time today. The rest of that stretch was a wind affected mess, with only the Point offering some respite from the southerly. I was struggling to make the rock jump as I missed my first chance by nearly falling into a gap between the rocks. And then I had to wait for a w...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

A lot of hard work for a few waves. Stuffed now.
Second time now I've made a relatively steep drop on my groveller and just as I'm sure I've set myself up I dig the nose in and get completey rissoled. :-? #*!

Re: Bali - July or September?

July is peak surf time. It's less crowded in September but the winds are more variable. So you would probably have to travel for a wave some of the time from the Kuta side to the Nusa Dua side. You tend to have to travel anyway to get waves so that's no big deal. I haven't been back since they finis...

Re: Kookocracy

Personally I find the legions of Kelly clones out there worse than a bunch of retro hipsters. Im middle aged. I'm losing my hair. I'm shaving it all off and still sticking my chest out in the surf. Like Kelly? Nah, more like Bobby Martinze or a bunch of Sri Lankan Buddhist Monks only uglier and fatt...

Re: Coffs Harbour artificial reef plans in limbo

Once bitten twice shy...surfing reefs are a hard sell on the Goldy. There was a plan to sink some warships off the coast a year or so ago, that could've been good. Some sort of deal with the Russian navy for free boats fell through and Govt. didn't want to stump up the difference. Yeah let's drop a...

Re: Coffs Harbour artificial reef plans in limbo

Well it's obviously in the right place if its anywhere near Coffs. Limbo that is.

More chance of knocking out a few waves than making new ones.
Surfers really have an over inflated sense of the importance of surfing to the general public.

Re: Kookocracy

Don't forget the filthy smelly hipster. Only one thing worse than SUPs in a crowded line up and that is hipsters with shaggy hair, beards, trendy tatts and shit. indeed they must be exterminated -everything about them shits me :D :D Congratulations on participating in a strange parody of the 1970s....

Re: Age, diet, type 2 diabetes and you.

This 5:2 business ...... Is it preferable to: - group the 2 "starvation days" together , -split them into a routine eg. Monday and Thursday or Tuesday an Thursday , or - randomly throw the starvation days around ( averaging 5:2 over a month ) to keep the body guessing ? No its definitely advised to...

Well at the risk of enflaming some people around the joint/joints.
5:2 works very well particularly if you aren't ridiculous about it.

You can talk about prehistoric diets but one reality is that people didn't eat exactly the same quantity of food seven days a week 52 weeks a year.

A lot of the fishy quad type softies seem to go much better.
The design lends itself to this really I guess.

Spork I don't know what the kids are like up your way but down here in the big cities there are more than enough self assertive opinionated teenagers. Didn't you see what happened to Abbott when he bailed up a bus load of Year 9 students on an excursion to Canberra recently?

Re: Age, diet, type 2 diabetes and you.

Due to hereditary factors I've been on blood pressure and cholesterol tablets for 10 years or something now. Part of that is getting biannual blood tests. They also check blood sugar and psi or whatever you're prostate thingo is. As far as 5:2 goes I usually have a bowl of porridge with yoghurt and ...

Re: Ask Carroll

Mate of mine came back from OS last year. Moved into his apartment he had been renting out while he was away and walked straight into this very situation. Some owners had purchased a couple of flats in the block and had begun renting them out as B&Bs at a hefty price. Other owners didn't like it so ...

Re: Softboard for beginners - Softline vs other? what to cho

Tend to agree with ctd. Just be careful you aren't buying an old gun from someone's trip to Indo 15 years ago. A 7'6" board for example could be as thin and bendy as a potato chip and need a really advanced surfer to ride it in solid surf. I see guys with boards like this all the time at Bondi. Usua...

How's your appreciation of Bronnie Bishop fairing since she has taken to sitting like a buzzard with a beehive in the speakers chair?

How did your bum tests go?
