in your opinion how important is it to go super short and a little under volume with these boards.

Nicely put Glamarama, I got one for my son to learn on, and I'll always recommend them for a beginner because they have the float, but it's not a board you want to ditch once you've got the basics. I like the look of the zot and some of geoffs ideas but having ridden a single fin nugget i found that the design theory didnt consistently translate to my reality.....which happens when you experiment with different designs of course. didnt look well ridden at all to me..............when i got it....
