Re: Diverse™ Blatant Tomo MPH ripoff

It's a Mayhem. A few blokes are riding them.

Re: Bong in big trouble

I can't recall whether this has already been covered in this thread, but Billabong has pulled out of Jeffries, with it downgraded to a "six star" event (whatever that means). The latest rumour is Volcom is ditching Fiji. Quik isn't doing New York, and I think Rip Curl has ditched its mobile "Search"...

Re: Bong in big trouble

HO - interesting point about being able to leverage two brands off a single investment. I hadn't thought of that. Reminds me of badge-engineering in the automotive world. This discussion reminds me of an article I read in the Oz a few weeks back by Fred Pawle. It was talking about the decline of the...

Re: Bong in big trouble

I wonder what surfing's demographics are? Australia, like many developed western nations, has an ageing population. In theory, the average age of surfers should also be rising (disclaimer: I am not a statistician). If that's the case, the surf companies - which target and market youth - are going to...

Re: Bong in big trouble

mate, the surf industry, the general surf media and the numpties who populate it will fall over themselves to give just about any company entering the surf market a handjob. Look at how Nike has been welcomed without even a question as to motivation or heritage. I'm also still mystified as to why Ni...

I am surprised Hayden was granted a patent on what essentially amounts to a carbon wrap on the rail.

Anyone know of Matt "Doormat" Hepworth? Surfed with Cheyne Horan at Bondi in the 70s/80s. Also, Greg Graham, Peter Dragar and Louie from North Narrabeen? I think Greg's in Byron, but no idea about Peter or Louie. peter dragar is still around. works for a smash repairer at mona vale. don't know what...

Re: Andy Irons Dies

just on the bipolar thing again. I speak from personal experience, btw. The stories I read stated AI was diagnosed at 18. One would expect him to be taking something to treat it, and generally speaking, as another poster suggested, anti-depressants and the types of drugs used to treat BP generally (...

just a quick clarification for those that care. It's said AI was bipolar. None of the drugs in his system, according to the coroner's report, were drugs used to treat this condition.
