Re: Twin fins as go-to boards
Would love to try one of these, sized right.
I know they go good on your backhand.

Yeah, it looked a lot longer- looked like a 6'6" when he was riding it.
he rode really shortboards in his last couple years on tour.

Re: Twin fins as go-to boards
Yeah I've seen O-dawg on that board at that wave.
He's surfing OK on it- seems a bit slow and draggy in the flesh and not quite suited to the turns he is trying to do on it.
That style of forward outline pulled tail twin at that length has a fair amount of mid-length vibe to it.

Re: Twin fins as go-to boards
Pure twins have never worked for me backside- unless they are fishy or mid-lengths.
Add a little trailer fin and voila- magic.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Paddling up the inside after every fucking wave for one. I made it my mornings work to drop in on one cnut who kept doing it and when he questioned me about it I explained that while he keeps paddling past everyone I will keep dropping in on him. Can't you just have a quiet, civilised word to them ...

Just had an absolute magic surf with the wife, solo, fish everywhere, crystal clear water and perfect peaks.
Not a tourist in sight.

Re: Just general surfing stuff
Nice off the bottom.
Those top turns are way too drifty and not carved/drivey enough for my tastes.
They need to be carved through, not slid through.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
I was on the Goldy for the first couple of years of South Straddy.
Never had such an absolute tube-fest before or after.
First year you could surf it with whoever paddled over with you.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Correct.
The technical term is the sand supply now exceeds the headland dimension and the peel angle has been altered.
It’s mostly a close out with some insane makeable barrels.
Not the same wave as the Kirra of 74-2002

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Sometimes you see some good ones at Kirra with no one around and paddle out and realise quickly you have no chance of holding position and gotta hope you get one quickly. Apparently the sweep wasn’t too bad that sesh though. Sweep was pretty bad- you could paddle against it, but it was definitely m...

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Wasn’t that uncrowded. Just a lot of water moving around and people spread out.
Lots of wash throughs.
