Re: Japanese Whaling
Im against whaling myself, but it sh!ts me how damaging peoples attitudes can be towards Japanese people. MOST Japanese people themselves dont eat whale, and are not supporters of whaling, and it only a few small areas that still hold on to this 'tradition' of whaling. What about having a go at Icel...

Even the longboarders couldn't do a turn on those fat, slow, dreary looking waves. Worth surfing at the temperature that water must be?? I think not...

Re: Skin Cancer
All talk of arse raping aside, I've got issues with the use of the word 'toxins'. Anything can be toxic to human health. Too much water can be lethal. Too much oxygen in the air can kill us. etc.. It's all about dose and how much the individual human can safely cope with. I'm still waiting for info...

Re: places you just cant surf anymore
There's a secret E coast left ledge that ive never surfed since getting off the belly and onto the feet. In fact, ive never known a stand-up to EVER surf this wave. Up untill a few years ago never even saw another soul surf it. Seriously shallow legde with very short surfable tide window. Agree with...

guy (page 113) falls off a bb at pipe (yes it happens), editor says he has done more in one session for the sport than mike stewart did in a lifetime. wtf?? surf mags still spitting out this dribble to pubescent readers that soak it up? As a stand-up surfer, this also gave me the shits a bit. most ...

Re: Door to Door Surfboard Delivery - Thoughts?
Im one that's bought a custom online after a bit of discussion with the shaper. Didnt really get pressured into making an order, the shaper was happy to just chat design which helped me to build up my own (then) very basic knowledge. Before long I had 3 sticks, all very different, from the same shap...

Re: Blu tac as ear plugs in tropics
I busted my eardrum by getting lipped square in the ear, had the full loss of balance, couldnt stand up even in waist deep water, and felt like i was hallucinating, the beach was waving up and down like a big swell does. Pain was pretty instant, and blocking the nose and blowing resulted in a dirty ...

Re: Rubber
yeah I cant do the bare back thing, too paranoid about the sun. A 1mm vest or long sleeve rashie does the job. Hatchy, what does the water temp max out at down there?? I can understand wearing a steamer down there, but in Syd, and further north, just comfort factor. Rubber = harder to paddle, get to...

Rubber
It gets done every year, most are probably sick of hearing about it, but im going to bring it up again. When surfing on Tuesday I was loving the water temperature (Sydney). Felt warm as and perfect to be paddling around in, but the amount of full length rubber on display, at midday, under a hot sun ...

Re: Why did I let this happen to me?
I sometimes eat only fruit thru the day and drink water ...then have a normal dinner, not too big but have whatever really, meat and veges or salad...no desserts and drink more water after dinner...this for a week usually drops 3kgs or so for me, not that I am big but usually around 74kgs and occas...

Re: Bali, Compulsive disorders and religion
Religion is what sets the moral compass of those who believe. They don't (insert sin) because it's against God, because God told them not to. I tend not to, say, kill, because I don't believe it's my right to deprive another person of their life. Also, I wouldn't like to have it done to me. If a be...

Re: Bali, Compulsive disorders and religion
Yeah the God of the bible sounds like a cnut. Im glad he's not real. my thoughts exactly. And if he was real i would never want to be 'saved' by such an evil character. but on OCD tendencies and religion I think it's an interesting thought, but not something that can blanket everyone who is religio...
