wonder if anyone but Kelly would have been given a wave on a 5'11" in those conditions?
And how many he got?
I've discovered I can ride my 5'11" in much bigger waves than I thought (about a third of those....), but not if there are more people than waves in a set.

I mean quality not just good waves. So, you're looking for reports of where it was crap? Haha are you kidding me, there isnt a single wave on the Northern Beaches that likes a south swell, ... Its just a shit swell direction. The vast majority of big swells in Sydney come from the S-SE direction.

Re: How is wave height measured in Australia?
when talking/reading about wave height is it the same as the Hawaiian size? i.e. height from the back of the wave, or is it from the wave trough to lip as you're looking at it. Yep, that's normally right. Of course, an Australian foot is smaller than a Hawaiian foot. And it's far more common to mea...

Re: Improving surf breaks through sand placement
Topher, they deliberately dig below the water table because it's much cheaper and easier to move it as a slurry a That's what it looks like on the aerial photos, there's a couple of dredges floating in the ponds. I heard that the price of building sand has gone up a lot recently, I assume they're ma...

They've also got a reliable source of sand from Port Hacking, so it could turn out to be a seasonal thing, I expect.

I also get baby sea slugs sometimes appearing in the tank. I assume after i have fed my pet drummer some green weed from the rocks that the babies have hitch-hiked back to my tank. (edit: my aquarium has never been well looked after, more a haphazard occasional addition from the rock ledges, and to...

While you're around, the EDO is running a free coastal law seminar at Lennox on the 16th.
PM me if you want the details.
Edit. It's not really a secret, and others may be interested.

Re: Realsurf Survey ripped off by NSW Tourism
Mr Carroll was further amused to be contacted some months later by a man hoping to conduct a lengthy interview with him on the subject of NSW's best beaches, on behalf of, you guessed it, Tourism NSW.
