Re: Where did you surf today ?

Surfed my fav SC beachie this morning. Looked to be a mixture of swells at first light with some leftover S/SE mid range period swell and some inconsistent building E/SE groundswell. She had a bit of morning sickness at first light but got better as the tide and morning progressed. Was a little und...

Nah. Forum Board Index is my home page. Rarely look at Real Surf now since I moved home.

Re: A bit on the nose...

Then there is the rider who not only rides a mal like a shortboard but also manages to do it with an ugly and angry style :x :x :x :x :x I don't care how radical the move is there is no excuse. Yeah mate you really ripped the bag out of it now would you mind getting out of the poo stance and trying...

Re: A bit on the nose...

I can bet you for every one who shares your opinion there'd be one who disagrees. The only people who are qualified to judge whether or not mal riding has improved/ advanced are those who ride them. Regularly. Hate to disagree (again) Trev :D but I think you’d be wrong. Don’t know too many people w...

Have no problem with 2 footers but not beachies. Points please.

[quote="merkin"]Not much of a shot - I really should get my macro lens out - but I have a thing about bees. If bees died out the planet would go for about four days then start dying off. Any plantspotters identify the tree?

Bit hard to tell from that shot Merkin but looks a lot like a camellia.

Re: A bit on the nose...

Like i said, there needs to be two categories because like cars and jazz and music generally, surfboards have changed, including mals and the way modern mals are ridden has changed. I'm not saying its better or worce, i'm simply saying that the boards and the people riding them have changed. Yes bu...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Still plenty of fun little 2' stuff down (from Tiger) my way. A bit straight for the beachies though. :D
I've had 5 days straight now and it looks like the swell will stay about the same all week. 8)

Re: Teen surfer wades back in after shark attack

Funny I was saying to my wife the day before the kid got bit that the ocean seemed really alive. A reasonable amount of activity in the water even at my fav SC beachie this morning too Steve. Perhaps the small swells, crystal clear waters and cooler temps are bringing the ocean activity closer to s...

Re: Huey is a Legend

Let us know how you'll go. Just got out from my fav SC beachie. Absolute corker of a winters morning. Clean 2ft with the odd 2ft+/3ft set. A bit inconsistent but when the sets rolled through they had some power for their size that's for sure. Me and a mate had a wedgey bank all to ourselves. Feckin...

Re: G Land Pro old footage

How's that shot of Tom standing upright and running his fingers along the top of the cavern? And no "short" jokes please. I just admire someone who has the mental ability to slow everything down so much they have such a clear vision of exactly where they are in a wave like that and be able to assess...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Had some fun little 2' stuff this morning.
Water crystal clear so you could see the rock bottom perfectly, interspersed with the occasional passing turtle.
Light offshores.
Ahh Qld. Beautiful one day, perfect the next.
Bring on tomorrow. 8)

Re: A bit on the nose...

To me longboarding should be a comprehensive mix of old and new, with style. Absolutely agree. 8) I got chipped by some guy out at Queensie one day because he said I was riding my mal like a shortboard. Since I've never ridden a shortboard and was driving rally cars when the shortboard revolution t...
