Re: Midlengths

A bonzer zot! All would be forgiven, I think the deep concaves on Malcolm's bonzers work in conjunction with the angled side fins so this might be an issue for the dome.....but please let us know if ya bonzer up ya zot. Please send GM a pic & let us know his response

Re: Midlengths

Nice Hatchy, hope u colour coordinate your boardies appropriately tho. You re right, it's Momentum whilst hooking through steep sections that allows a good midlength to open up whilst the rider remains relaxed. The surf industry is busily peddling go as short & light as possible, but really a bit of...

Re: Midlengths

Thanks Davros, now I am all frothy & will spend this evening trawling the Internet for a whale tongue! How did you find it in beachies of varying quality? I like mine to glide in early & high line section after section. Often a midlength & make 2-3 sections on a beachie while the average Joe on his ...

Re: Midlengths

I totally agree. Longer rail length surfing is a skill that has by and large been lost at the CT level. I know Carroll has an ultra high opinion of the skills of CT surfers but I'm more often surprised by how limited they are, not how masterful. There's only a handful of surfers on the CT who can r...

Re: Midlengths

Tell us more about the whale tongue Davros, I am intrigued. I ve only seen them on the UWL website & that clip of Rasta. I live close to the boardroom in Miami who stock DVS boards. I often drop by for a fondle. His micro mals look interesting but once over 6" they blow out like a ..... dare I say i...

Re: Midlengths

Re: Midlengths

I'd happily walk down the beach with a minimal. I'm with Iggy, especially for most of the time here a minimal works great I've had a mini mal (mid length for the socially anxious) in my quiver for about the last 10 years. Long before it suddenly became cool (or at least acceptable) to have one. hav...

Re: Midlengths

Batoes, I could be happy with a 3 board hipster quiver: the Gato, Sherpa & a Jye Byrnes bonzer. However, I would have to sell everything ...... hmmmm doable I suppose, but those hipsters just won't accept me as one of their own

Re: Midlengths

Yeah, perhaps it was the bulbous tail which was also contributing to my predicament. The tails on Malcolm's boards are pretty special, there is a lot going on in the back third of those puppies. A bonzer egg would be a great midlength, What length was yours Davros?

Re: Midlengths

I agree Salty, I am 72kg & had a nugget a few years back, no way I could bury the rail. I had a chat to Geoff about the said board & he concluded that I needed more volume......the board was 6"6 & 3" thick  Malcolm Campbell also likes a generous dose of foam & under the arm they can feel chun...

Re: Midlengths

How can a Mccoy train wreck take over a midlength thread? Anyways, be careful people, Batoes is a bad man, we all saw how he poured blood into the water & let the RS sharks attack poor anus deel. His other less public but equally as dastardly act in 2017 was to use me as the canary in the cage. He ...
