Re: Where did you surf today ?

swell is still hanging in there. bit of a wait ... but still 3ft+ sets and offshore. I had a bank all to myself on that new emery. A long spinning right that was still hollow in places despite the high'ish tide. I don't know what i'm going to do when it eventually goes flat. I've fallen into such a...

Re: Quiver thread

I think there's something wrong with me. For the first time since I started surfing I feel like there's no room in my life for more boards. Surely it's a passing phase. Yes, I have felt this a couple of times. The solution is slapping yourself around the head & selling 3 or 4 boards......then the c...

Re: Midlengths

Don't tell everyone hatchy! But yeah, what's the point of being able to surf super rad on your 5"10 hypto if you can't make it around the second section.

Not a midlength, but i think that you will appreciate this: https://vimeo.com/114110573

Re: Midlengths

It's been a good weekend for the midlength brethren up here, the points have been great & it picked up nicely. I really enjoy the extra rail length on the points, beautiful swooping long rides. I managed to get up near enough on the nose of my 7'6 gato piggy & it accelerates crazily which is a hoot....

Re: Quiver thread

Yes, I reckon that a bonzer 3 egg with a light vehicle bottom would be epic but as I have a pod, I have no need at the moment. Hopefully, Batoes Will read this & after several sleepless nights place an order then tell us how it rides.

Re: Quiver thread

Hey Beery, the pod found me & I am glad that it did. Batoes the bonzer prophet had been talking about them for ages when I found it secondhand in a local surf shop. Shaped by malcolm 3 months earlier & looked like it had been ridden 3 times so I figured I could sell it for what I bought it for. It's...

Re: Quiver thread

It feels good when things come together after tweaking your board Agreed, I recently put a bamboo bonzer fin (thanks Batoes!) into my pod & moved it 1 cm further forward than where the previous fin was positioned & the difference is incredible. It feels faster through turns but also loosened the 5 ...

Re: Quiver thread

Looks beautiful toots, does the v stringer Have noticbly more flex than a conventional centre stringer Only before the glass goes on, noticeable flex comes with the carbon tail.WHOOSH, the speed and drive is truly TURBO! I haven't ridden or owned "the ultimate in flex" as Mitchell describes a V2 + ...

Re: Gary McNeill

I agree. It is a very fast board. I ride it at mystics when it's chest high and over. It's the type of board where you don't think you can make a section and next thing you know you're in flat water, laying a rail to get back to the foam ball. I've made a few really good waves out there. The single...

Re: Gary McNeill

I ve had this idea for about 18 months about a long fish, they re popular with the seppos in the 8ft range as a longboard replacement. Because Gary's boards are so refined my idea would be a 6'8 cv2 long fish twinny with a trailer option just in case, for a light weight like me in good waves. Paddle...
