Re: SurfyWurfy's McCoy Thread

Think I've mentioned it before, but shall do again anyway. There's a guy down this way; one of the more accomplished hpsb surfers of his mid-thirties age. Couple of years ago, he got a new tech Lazer Zap. Loved it immediately. Fcuking rips on it. Says it's "like cheating". Most tempted I've ever bee...

Re: Bells Beach

Fcuk me, I'm not a 14 yo girl anymore. 4/3 now. Couple of times I wanted the booties for the ground, but yet to wear them this year. When the wind is icy, a hood is great, albeit a little disconnecting. I actually use a hooded vest AND I wear it on the outside. Better because when you get leakage in...

Re: Maldives

No dodging on the wide set waves at Chickens. Me and a few crew from NSW were the only ones in tune. Brazos, Israelis and other assorted tards too deep. Guide was a very good surfer who reckoned Chickens is his favourite Maldivian wave at 6 ft plus. Best I got was 4 plus

Re: Maldives

Did a boat a few years back. Then a few nights at Kandooma. Swell relatively small so boats concentrated at Cokes Chickens. The land based waves are exclusive, but they can roll up anywhere the charters are. Kandooma was a good finish as there were 3 non-surfing women aboard, but to base yourself th...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I dunno, Warren has explained the rules to me in the past and also why they tend to go unenforced. http://www.coastalwatch.com/surfing/21620/nick-carroll-on-sharks-jetskis-the-issues-on-the-table You also don't need them explained, they are easily accessed online. I was pointing out this bit “When ...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Lifeguard seems a tool
When asked yesterday Gold Coast City Council Chief Lifeguard Warren Young would not explain what the tow-in surfing rules are and whether they are enforced.

“When it’s big like that they shouldn’t be doing it,” Mr Young said.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Oh oh, you mentioned it Wind not quite playing, but it will be fcuken massive this weekend. Couple of other places not quite as big, but still way too much for me. Guy at work said he might see me in the water. Not where he'll likely be surfing. He plans on paddling Pelicans. Just about everyone els...

Re: winter

Yeah, water still not too bad, but air temps on the w'end were icy in the morning. Near on zero wind though so no wind chill. 3/2 & booties would have been ok. Booties just for the ground though. Feet were freezing until hitting the water

SST lag. Air temp lag. Just into 4/3 down here. No booties or hooded vest yet, but when that starts, theyre on until the equinox. Skinks, offy and me
