Re: Bells Beach

Fcuk me, I'm not a 14 yo girl anymore. 4/3 now. Couple of times I wanted the booties for the ground, but yet to wear them this year. When the wind is icy, a hood is great, albeit a little disconnecting. I actually use a hooded vest AND I wear it on the outside. Better because when you get leakage i...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

It was cathederal rock, I have had 2 heart attacks out there in the same conditions What kind of fccckn hell man are you? Not much of one as I paddled back in without even attempting to catch a wave  . Cathederal is a pretty soft wave actually, I am limited to what I can surf and I have to do ...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

You paddled in between sets or caught one in? Paddled in between sets, I was down the bottom so just paddle about 30m straight in and caught a small broken wave and belly boarded in. It was cathederal rock, I have had 2 heart attacks out there in the same conditions and I was feeling a little weird...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Paddled out at a point break on the surfcoast, had to wait awhile for a gap in the sets to jump off the rocks, only got hit by a couple got swept down the point a bit but was wide enough to be clear of the sets. Then had this spooky feeling that something was not right, so went with my gut feeling a...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

think I'm gonna go down to Bells, rustt might be all "wankers" etc but I've known the Brooks family since before Shaun was born, and they're fine with people surfing during the event as long as you give plenty of room. even if it's not on it's still gonna be somewhat off the hook. That's fine Nick,...

Forgot about that wankfest, glad I don't surf there. Getting a bit sick of groups of people taking over breaks in memory of a mate that some have probably never met.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Good bank on 90 mile of all places. Not another soul in sight. The weather in victoria this week has been amazing. Beautiful sunshine and all day light offshores. Never seen a bank 90 mile, have looked a couple of times on my way through only ever found waves at Red Bluff and that'd quite good on i...

Water is warm, still wearing 3/2 sealed, no hood or booties :) Up early for another one.

Re: winter

Yeah, water still not too bad, but air temps on the w'end were icy in the morning. Near on zero wind though so no wind chill. 3/2 & booties would have been ok. Booties just for the ground though. Feet were freezing until hitting the water I have heard the lefts are good down you way and very popula...

Re: Quiver thread

I saw this for sale on a Sth. Oz surfboard sell FB page a couple of days ago. Got the guy to measure it, seven foot. It's definitely my old board, Paul Gravelle made it for me to take to St. Africa in 1980. Classic shovel nosed Gravelle shape from that era. Can't tell from the pics but it was foile...

Yeah, had a few texts to him last night, seems okay. He was lucky someone was watching, everyone else was watching the approaching set. That's a positive tick for the jetski circus.
