Re: J-Bay Pro 2017

Well we obviously met people with vastly different opinions. What were your opinions of Jo'burg? yeah you met the workers and I met the surfers. Nicks making me itch to go back actually, most of the crew I hung out with are still there, be nice to see them. I never really hung out in joburg. Scary ...

Re: J-Bay Pro 2017

Jesus guys come on. There's a small minority' of whites in SA hanging on, no, stuck and scared shitless with a stack of weapons in close reach. Any with an English passport left as soon as they could. There may be a few coastal hamlets that exude White on the water or maybe Ellis Park when the Spri...

Re: J-Bay Pro 2017

The contest is like a bubble, think of how Olympics treats poor people i spose, there in the background. I spent 4 winters there 84, 85, 89 and 2006 I still don't really have handle on it, I've seen some really ugly things and some beautiful things, but what you see is not necessarily what is going ...

Re: J-Bay Pro 2017

Hey Nick, are there any black people in South Africa? I've been looking carefully and can't see any! Amazing isn't it. That's a knot I can't untangle TMS. One intelligent and observant local told me that of the 50 million people South Africa, a small number live in a middle class bubble, a few are ...

looks very similar to a Desert Storm Russt.

and I bet great fun to surf in anything.

whats the bottom contours?
Slight V all the way, minimal in the nose and tail and a bit more in the belly.

Still waiting for some waves to try it out, pretty lean here at the moment.

Suppose you might call this a mid length, just picked it up. 7'4"x 21"x 3", got for surfing medium size local reefs and larger beachies that are hard to paddle into, getting old and don't have the power in the arms these days :)

Re: Bells Beach

Fcuk me, I'm not a 14 yo girl anymore. 4/3 now. Couple of times I wanted the booties for the ground, but yet to wear them this year. When the wind is icy, a hood is great, albeit a little disconnecting. I actually use a hooded vest AND I wear it on the outside. Better because when you get leakage i...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

It was cathederal rock, I have had 2 heart attacks out there in the same conditions What kind of fccckn hell man are you? Not much of one as I paddled back in without even attempting to catch a wave  . Cathederal is a pretty soft wave actually, I am limited to what I can surf and I have to do ...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

You paddled in between sets or caught one in? Paddled in between sets, I was down the bottom so just paddle about 30m straight in and caught a small broken wave and belly boarded in. It was cathederal rock, I have had 2 heart attacks out there in the same conditions and I was feeling a little weird...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Paddled out at a point break on the surfcoast, had to wait awhile for a gap in the sets to jump off the rocks, only got hit by a couple got swept down the point a bit but was wide enough to be clear of the sets. Then had this spooky feeling that something was not right, so went with my gut feeling a...
