Re: Single fin shortboards

Yeah it’s not my cup of tea. I like single fin surfing to look like single surfing. Though he’d probably have shown up any of the contenders in the pro Maldives single fin comps, as they’re all really just surfing thruster lines but with one fin. I’d still be keen to have a go on one. They look pret...

Re: Mentawai quiver.

When we surfed scarecrows it was really fun but kinda wonky with a shifty take off. Telescopes was breaking much better but was crowded and didn’t seem to be picking up as much swell. Hideaways is an epic lefthander. Bulbous with that dreamy sloping wall that peels off all the way into the channel. ...

Re: Single fin shortboards

Hi-perf singles. Polfer Hull Designs. Dude clearly rips but it looks so far removed from single fin lines that I can’t relate it to single fin surfing at all. Moreover it’s thruster lines but looser and tighter in the pocket which is impressive. https://youtu.be/q8xDiRABlmE http://phdsurf.com/about-...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Chest high sets. Constant waist high. It was weak swell. You needed the right board. Not a shorty

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Surf it from 10-12. And again from 4-5. Slightly bigger now but sectiony. Shortboard would’ve been a struggle

Everyone got waves. It was only a 6 second period swell. Wave after wave after wave.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

North Curl Curl. Waist to chest high and super consistent. Surfed the 7’6 and must’ve bagged over 40 waves. Really fun bank. First section looked like it’d shutdown but would fill in so you could float over it and thread down the line into cutback and go left for a few metres until the right reforme...

What fin set up are you running on it? Love the look of them. Look like they can handle some juice also.

That snake run at Dulwich Hill is a stack of fun. You usually need to broom a few leaves out of it first though

Re: Where did you surf today ?

South facing reef at a fun sized 3-4 foot. The rights had more bowl to carve up but still the occasional racetrack left that would drain off the ledge and throw square on take off.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

South facing reef, inconsistent chest to head high but fun when they came through. Lefts were pretty fat but the rights had a nice wackable bowl.

Re: Ebay Bargains thread

in the 90’s on southern GC it seemed everyone was either on a pipedream or Mt woodgee. I must’ve owned at least 3 of Murray’s boards. The PD branded boards now look to be marketed squarely at the intermediate surfer market, smaller waves, and sold at a price point. But if Murray is designing the boa...
