Re: Fish

Fwiw I think your fish is too big. I am 6'0 and was 74kg and I rode a 5'4" when I lived in San Diego. Could ride down to 5'2", and wouldn't go longer than 5'8". Different waves though. I think a fish shape is a bit limited but I have a 5'6" summer board that's fun as hell in small clean surf. I don'...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Man I started feeling my age a while back. This was different. Ah well it's passed now. Maybe the intensity of the surf matched the intense emotions you've described in recent weeks. A similar feeling of being surrounded by something powerful, but a greater sense of control or comfort or just abili...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

JJF v Andino on right now.

I haven't drunk the Kolohe-Aid, I don't get what's so great about him that he wins heats.

Seems like a very good surfer in the middle third of the wave, with slightly above average aerials.

John's making him look silly.

I've seen about a 14' tiger before. I doubt it was a good thing. But I'd prefer a tiger to a white.
Bethany might disagree but I get the point.
One of your home breaks has a big resident tiger, Jimmy.
Minibus big.

Sharks love those thermoclines.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Worth a look at the site loof suggested, Steve. They've got an O'Neill reactor 3/2 for $117. Saw that: flat lock seams are useless though. It's barely worth a 50 spot. Couldn't see a decent wetty on there for under 300 https://www.hyperride.com.au/product/92174/oneill-2018-superfreak-bz-3-2mm-steam...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Fascinatingly the Japanese Govt has asked the world to begin addressing Japanese people in the home-grown manner, ie surname first, named name last Does this mean the World Surf League has to now call Kanoa Igarashi, Igarashi Kanoa? My god I hope so. Chinese is like this but no one notices. There's...

Re: Stringerless epoxy crease repair

Just buy the fcuking thing then.

It'll snap at the edge of the repair, but you'll no doubt have some fun before it does.

Re: Stringerless epoxy crease repair

A stringerless EPS (epoxy is the resin not the foam) has all the strength in the sandwich/outer glass, particularly the rails. It'll never be the same, regardless of the quality of the repair. It might be ok, but there's a reason it's cheap, and for sale. I assume you mean this board https://i.ebayi...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I can't believe how bad that analogy is beanpole.
They're both wet I guess.

Duck probably isn't legal to drive until mid afternoon so surfing locally is best for everyone.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

It was a surprise to me too.
They were slow but fairly regular easterly sets, flatness in between.

There's some incredible sand there at the moment.
