Re: Channel Islands Biscuit or Fishcuit

I know there is a lot of support on this forum for local shapers providing the best outcome for a surfer, however, i don't know that i agree that a local shaper can just shape you a quad or fishcuit or any other "copied" shape as well as the "off the rack" board that has been developed by another sh...

Re: Fat Bullet review

Good review there Old Grom. Agree with Old's on all counts as well. Keen to ride a round tail quad. Like the fin placements on that one - more thrusterish than twin finnish by the look of it. Heavy nose double concave  :?: looks a little strange but if it works, all good. Not a fan of that Bo...

Re: SURFING SUSTENANCE

Pre early - usually nothing, just straight out there. Occassionally a piece of choccy - roast almond dairy milk or a chocolate Monte (old hangover habit). Sometimes a piece of fruit on the way out the door. Post surf - the full works when possible: Eggs, bacon, fried tomato, sausages, fried onion, t...

Re: what's the shittest wave in sydney?

Agree - Bondi to Bronte stretch sux big time. Grew up surfing that stuff - backwash / sidewash high tide Tama poon dog crappola, banks once every 11 years at macca's, fat burgers at Bronte with a side order of cliff wash, crowded shutdowns at bondage. Still, had some of the best waves of my life on ...

That's some story Longi. Jules Verne-y I experienced a super down-scaled version in the Mentawais, pissed as a newt on the trip back to Padang. A plastic chair had been accidentally hurled off the top deck into the drink, no land in sight, late afternoon with the sun just starting to set. I took it ...

Re: The Artificial Reef thing

Looks good Steve. Putting the brakes on a rolling stone then pushing it back up the hill - high energy input required. Looks like there is some serious focus on resolving the problem.

The Artificial Reef thing

What to do when crowd numbers at your local get beyond a joke? Most breaks worth surfing are overcrowded. How often do you see a peak that can barely handle 15 surfers with 40+ hassling for the same waves? Crowds so thick you can’t complete your bottom turn for all the guys paddling out through the ...

Re: No wave surfs

First post No Wave surf – with a twist. This happened about 4 years ago at a well known left hand reef break on the South Coast. The surf was about 6-8ft, one of those solid late autumn south swells with heaps of water moving around. It was high tide and stormy. The ocean was a lead grey colour, dar...
